This truly is an olde tired, worn out, decrepid, smelly, dirty and generally not nice hotel. It trades on its past glories. Sorry but you cannot do that forever. I visited this hotel 10 years ago and they told me it was being refurbished. 10 years later it hasn't happened. Everything about this Hotel is stale and old. Breakfast is absolutely 100% rubbish, all of the buffet options are cold and not fresh, cups saucers, glasses are not clean. The whole atmposphere is poor.

As for the rooms, noisy and in a dilapidated state. Again I remember asking way my room was noisy, they said it was the heating..................... that was TEN years ago - Rubbish

In my opinion a lot of cheaper hotels that at least have applied a bit of investment to their product are better. AVOID

The staff were very helpful. Great location next to the railway station in the City. The rooms were a decent size and had the great bed, very comfotable. The bathroom floor was heated. Breakfast buffet is included in room price and is excellent. Free internet.

traveled with a group and we had three rooms, all of them ok but a bit tired and worn down.
Breakfast is ok, usual stuff and you are free to pick and eat as much as you like - First breakfastroom is nice, then it get less and less attractive as you have to make your way to find a free table...
the location is perfect - right at the trainstation, opposite side of Tivoli, walking distance to everything (almost!)

I have stayed at the Plaza numerous times while passing through town. The location is hard to beat, especially if you arrive by train. This time, I got room facing train tracks, which are very noisy. Had dinner in the library bar, expensive but very nice and Swedish waitress was wonderful. My main complaint this time was the bathroom: it's disgusting to find a dirty toilet brush placed right next to the sink. Really folks - place this item in more discreet location and make sure it is clean. My other complaint is that staff never contacted me about package that got delivered to the front desk for me and as a result, I never received it. The breakfast bar has gotten worse over the years - there used to be a great selection of healthy breads but now it's just the bare minimum.
