“Good location and food, disappointingly small rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

The rooms in this hotel are not 4-star quality, they are tiny and look mostly like cabins on a ship. There is no space to get off on the other side of the bed. The idea of soundproofing in this hotel is giving customers earplugs. The bell of the near town hall or something makes sounds every 15 minutes from 8 to 23. Oh yeah, there was also some dirt on our linens.

The food is nice and there is plenty of it. Weird thing is the drinks are not included in the dinner... Breakfast is good with lot of food to choose from. At dinner there are 3 warm foods to choose from and they vary daily. The prices of the drinks are nowhere to be seen, but the wine costs something like 100kr and cider/beer 50kr, if I remember right.

The service is nice and staff speaks fluent English as always in the Scandinavia. This hotel is not as fancy as it wants to be. If you want to save some money and not eat at restaurants during your holiday, this is a good option.

“OK hotel with good location and breakfast”

Hotel has a great location to experience the city. Rooms are quite small but clean and nicely decorated, although the bed wasn't very good. Breakfast was nice (bread, yoghurt, juices, fruits, cheese, eggs croissants, vegetables etc.) and staff very helpful. Still the price of the room was too high.

“They could do much better!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

There are a number of pros, but also some cons that the management easily could change.
The pros: Nice, cosy, spacious room (provided you have a Deluxe one), where you feel at home due to the warm design with wooden floors, luxurious and very comfortable bed linen and towels, a huge foto wallpaper and an oversize fauteuil to hang around in.
Receptionists were very welcoming and friendly. Living room style breakfast/dinner room is cosy and comfortabel. Great location. Free Wifi
The cons: I haven´t seen such a poor choice of TV channels in a hotel of that standard and that rate. 6 Danish channels, BBC, some sports channels and Pay-TV. That´s it. No German, French, Italian, Spanish channels at all...so if you don´t speak Danish and don´t want to watch several evenings in a row news from BBC all night long you are lost. Well this is something urgently to be improved!
Breakfast during the week is only until 09.30 and when arriving to the breakfast room at 09.15 you will have a problem, because at 09.20 5 team members will run around hecticly, doing a lot of noise, by taking away all items from the buffet, so already 09.25 all knifes and forks were gone and I fighted to get a Latte Macciatto (which by the way has to be paid extra), but then decided to finish it in my room as I did not feel comfortable any more to enjoy it in the breakfast room.
In the room there is not enough space for the cosmetics around the washing bowl of the bathroom, so I would expect a little shelve on the wall...same for the shower, nothing to put your cosmetics on, so I left them on the floor.
In the shower there is a device on the ceiling for the air circulation, which normally should stop once you switch off the light or a little after. It runs day and night and makes a sound which is annoying and disturbs your sleep. I am sure there is a way this could easily be changed. So there are some tasks for management to get this done....

“OK tourist hotel near to everything”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

There has been a hotel at this spot in Copenhagen for many years, but it is now part of the Clarion-group and after a renovation furnished minimal style – like it or not! It is situated in a small street in the oldest and most charming part of the town. You are next to the Town Hall and the pedestrian street and in walking distance to many attractions, bars and restaurants. This seems to be a good idea, as parking space is limited or expensive in this part of Copenhagen and the garage in the basement is only for very small cars!
Rooms are different but even deluxe rooms are small with very narrow bathrooms. Outfit is standard and OK for a tourist stay, but as businessman at least I missed trouser press, shoe brush, shoe horn and paper tissues.
Staff is friendly and kind and the atmosphere relaxed reflecting that this is a not a big international hotel, but a rather small local place hardly known by many Danes.
Prices are in high end especially when taken into consideration that breakfast is normally not included.

Room Tip: Only delux rooms have a fair size

“Occupancy limited to adults only”

When trying to check availability of rooms, occupancy limited to adults only text appears after every single option, all rooms be it now 2 months or 4 months ahead. Definitely not a family hotel, don't bother.
