“Good location, ok hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

Location is great. Hotel gives a hip and trendy feeling. You can see that this is an old hotel which has recently been renovated. Not best quality of material for rebuilding has been used and in a few years it might not be in great condition anymore. Hotel is clean but rooms are very tiny and not too practical. Ok for a short stay. Breakfast buffet offers a good selection. Price value is fine for Copenhagen and i would still recommend it for such a budget. However, if you go to nearby Malmo in Sweden, you get a premium hotel for a much lower price. Only about 30 min train ride.

“2 nights in town”

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for two nights finishing our trip in Northwestern Europe. We were satisfied with our stay. The rooms (we were in standard double) were small, actually the smallest of our entire trip. The bathroom was also small and had seen better days. What we enjoyed most at this hotel was the amenities, both breakfast and a dinner buffet were included with rate. We had both the breakfast and the dinner and were happy with the food.
We did visit the ice hotel for a drink at the discounted patron rate. It was fun to stop in and now say that we have been to an ice bar. It was a little pricey, but we found it was comparable to the other ice bars we noticed in a couple of our other European stops.

“Great to spend a night or 2.....”

My boyfriend and I were there mainly to visit Tivoli after Xmas. The popular amusement park Tivoli is very close by maybe 10mins walk.
The hotel staff were very friendly . The internet in the room was great, fast and best of all free. The buffet was complimentary and was okay. I saw on their billaboard that they were charging approx 20 quid or 179Kr.
Close by was the 'Stroget' I had heels on and walked backed and fourth to that street few times and I would not recommend it. You need flats/comfortable shoes. We stayed at room 402 (yes they are very small it's def no Vegas style size) for a night or 2 it was fine, however if you plan on being there for 3+ nights, I would suggest upgrading for a larger room.

Room Tip: upgrade to a bigger room if you plan on staying more than 2 nights. Also drinks for the buffet is no...

“Just location”

The only attractive I remember from this hotel is the location. Not so far from train station, Tivoli and other touristic points. But the room was to small, with a small bed, just did not like it. The wall had some stains and the bed was by the wall. I`m not so sure if I would like to be there again.

“Good Hotel, Great Location, Decent Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 December 2011

This is a cute little hotel in a great area of Copenhagen and a 5 to 10 minute walk from the central train station (where trains from the airport would arrive). You basically have to walk around Tivoli from the station to get to the hotel.

We stayed here in the summer of 2009 for our honeymoon and we were not disappointed. The rooms are VERY small (slightly smaller than the average for most rooms in all European capitals), but they are clean and functional and decorated with bright and cheerful colors. My only complaint about the room was that there was absolutely no place to put your luggage. We told reception about this and the not so cheerful response was that this was a "minimalistic" design and we weren't in North America!!!

Needless to say, we asked to see a larger room that cost 40 Euros more per night and the only difference was that there was a 4' x 2.5' (1.2x0.8 meter) specifically for a suitcase. Seemed like a very high price to pay just to park a suitcase (or even a car in most cities) for a night! So, we grabbed some brochures from the lobby, put them under the bed and by raising the legs about 1", we were at least able to slide our suitcase under the bed so that we weren't tripping over it every time we went from one side of the room to the other.

We did make a point of going to reception after and told the 2nd girl to let the not-so-cheerful one know, that the Canadians figured out how to make their minimalistic design a bit functional as well by raising the bed!!! She was of course very embarrassed by the original response from her colleague and got a very good chuckle out of our bold proclamation.

Other than that, the Cabanas in the outdoor lounger are a very nice touch if you're visiting Copenhagen in the summer and like to soak in the sun, as is the access to the Ice Bar from inside the hotel. Overall, our stay was very pleasant and we would stay here again because of the great location. The price could have been a little bit lower, it did however include a dinner buffet which we never used, so it wasn't unreasonable either.
