What I like about in-airport hotels, is that once you landed, you are there. No further transportation, expensive taxis to town, sitting on your bladder, desperately waiting to receive the key to your bathroom. Particularly when you have an evening arrival and an early continuation in the morning, it is most convenient t to just follow the sign for "Hotel" and feel at home minutes later. These hotels are usually modern, comfortable and soundproof. It amuses me to watch from my window a jumbo taking off in front of me and and the only sound heard is the humm of the airco. The one in Copenhagen airport is a Hilton, and in accordance with its usual standard, large and good beds, satelite TV, etc.We had a pleasant dinner at the elegant restaurant before retiring for a good night's rest. My wife had a small problem of how to keep her frozen gourmet fish from defrosting during the summer night. but she found a solution: she simply took a few bottles out of the minibar cooler to make space fot her purchase. The next morning I went to check out and bumped into a surly looking young man , obviously disliking his early shift. As I checked the bill I discovered a list of beverages from the mini, which I contested, to which Grumpy replied, yes, the charges are justified.because the minibar is connected to their computer and charges whatever you remove from it, and he didn't look like he was going to take those charges off. It became my word against the machine. But being treated as a lier at 6.30 A.M.can make me go vocal, so I told him:"look, there is an easy way to find out, go and count your damn bottles youself." In fact I inserted the f-word, because I also have short fuses before seven. I regretted it but felt good for the rest of the day and the matter was closed .
