Stayed 2 nights this July. Great location and service. Smashing breakfast. Rooms of average size but nicely appointed. Perhaps expensive (for us)... but it is Copenhagen...

I have stayed several times at Hotel Christian IV and each time has been wonderful. The hotel is 30 second walk to Castle Rosenborg and 2 minute walk to Nyhavn. The rooms are well layed out and very quiet day and night. Free wireless. Rapid, inexpensive same day laundry service (give them clothing by 0900 and you get it at 1600.)

All day and all night there is food and drink for free in the downstairs lobby/sitting area. Just help yourself to a roll, snack, juice, coffee, etc.

This hotel has a very competitive price and is very clean and modern. The rooms are good sized and the bathrooms simple and very clean. I noticed another reviewer wrote about the size of the bed. I stay in "single" rooms at the hotel and the bed is often two "twin" beds side by side. I have never noticed any problem with this but I have always stayed as a single. I do not spend a lot of time in the room; only to sleep.

The reception staff is excellent and always available for help. Directions, recommendations, taxis, you name it. I have never had a problem or issue while staying at this hotel and will continue to use it as my hotel of choice when visiting the wonderful city of Copenhagen!

I read the (mostly) excellent reviews about this hotel before booking. We were 4, two adults and 2 children and we wanted one family room. We were not expecting much in terms of space - this is Copenhagen, but we were pleasently surprised by the room. It was small but perfectly formed, it was very clean, smelled fresh and the beds were comfortable. The continental style breakfast was adequate and very tasty. We were able to leave our luggage in their secure left luggage facility on the last day.

Quite central - make sure you take a walk to the lovely park, just 50m from the hotel front door. Metro is about a 7min walk - as is the start of the pedestrian shopping street.

All in all it was an excellent choice and we would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at this nice litttle hotel for 5 nights having booked it through Airmiles. It's a 3 star hotel in a quiet side street near to Kongens Nytorv which is a main Metro station. We had a pleasant twin bedded room which was spotlessly clean and although basic it was typical Scandinavian-style functionality and we found it very comfortable.
The staff on reception were excellent and the breakfast limited but fresh and tasty. There was free WiFi throughout the hotel and a PC in the lounge which was free to use. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room but free tea/coffee and fruit/pastries were available in the lounge 24/7.
The hotel was very quiet and there was no noise from the street, apart from some fireworks at 10:45pm from Tivoli on a Sunday night!
This was a great location from which to explore the city and we particularly enjoyed Nyhavn where there were lots of cafes and restaurants lining the canal. Copenhagen is quite a compact city and although it is expensive to eat out public transport was cheap and easy to use. The Canal Tours were excellent value but the Hop on Hop off bus was extortionate at £20 per person for what amounted to an hour tour. It's easy to get from the airport into the city by Metro and we did a day trip to Malmo and Ystad which was really easy to organise.
A great city for a short break.
