“great breakfast and service from employees”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

We stayed here for three nights in September after booking on the internet. The area is not very nice but is very safe. The train station with trains to the center is only a five minue walk away. There are two supermarkets nearby and several ethnic restaurants serving reasonably priced food in this expensive city.
As for the hotel itself it could use a good facelift with the carpets in the halls and the rooms showing signs of wear. The bathroom was clean and the beds comfortable. A coffee and tea pot is available in each room. The television was old fashioned but did have some English channels especially Sky News and CNN.
Breakfast is included and it was of very good quality with almost anything someone would imagine eating, from cereals to eggs and bacon. The bread selection was excellent.
Another positive point is the free and safe parking behind the hotel in a three floor garage, that seemed to be empty most of the time.
What really impressed me was the friendliness and helpfulness of the concierges, as a previous reviewer pointed out. We had four different men at the desk during our stay and they were all very helpful and pleasant. All of them spoke very good English.
For the price we paid, considering the prices of lodging in Copenhagen, the hotel is a good deal. It is not luxurious by any definition and probably not three stars but the friendly employees, the breakfast, and the parking make up for any defects.

“Free parking, internet and breakfast”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2011

This is a semi-modern hotel in the Valby part of Copenhagen. It is easy to reach from the motorway and there is free parking in the adjacent three-story parkinglot. Valby station with regional and local S-train service is close by - as is the Copenhagen Zoo and Carlsberg brewery. The rooms seem to be larger than usual in budget accomodation, the furniture ia a little battered, but the free breakfast buffet is substantial! A good base for our stay, visiting friends i Copenhagen.

“extremely friendly concierge, location good, inexpensive for danish standards”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2011

this hotel is located in valby, just about three or four stations from the heart of copenhagen downtown away. It is located in a quite side street with some fast food restaurants around the corner. We were very happy to be received by a very friendly concierge, who went out of his way to explain everything to us and help us to the room. There is a bowling alley underneath the hotel which may cause some noise at night. It is frequented by locals who like to be noisy in the street after bowling. So keep the windows shut if you are in the back portion of the hotel.
The room itself was clean, spacious and in good condition. However the bathroom was disappointing. There was mold in the shower and it smelled a bit of open sewage. Nevertheless, it was mainained well and everything functioned well. This is european standard, after all. Yet the price deterred a complaint about the bathroom and we stayed only for one night anyhow. From the outside the hotel does not appear as a hotel rather it looks like an office building. The breakfast buffet was very good. They had plenty of scrambled eggs, danish pastry galore and fresh juices as well as extremely friendly waiters helping you with extra wishes. It is a good hotel if you wish to stay in the Valby area. There are better locations to drop your body into bed, closer to the attractive center of Copenhagen. But, the beds are very comfy.

Room Tip: All rooms face the street. Take a room closer to the lobby, the nearer you get to the bowling alley...

“Nice hotel, but not so central”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 June 2011
1

Pros:
- good Hotel for its price (considering the Copenhagen average prices);
- the staff was always available and pleasant.

Cons:
- not so close to city centre, as it is advertised (not a 8 minute walk, but about 30-40 minute walk to the Tivoli);
- the lift was broken when we stayed there (we had to take our luggage by the stairs)

“It doesn't worth the money paid and the confort is very low”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 June 2011

Good thinks: The staff is very friendly. The hotel location is close of station ( abt 200
mtrs). Breakfast acceptable.
Bad thinks: The conforts is equivalent with 2 stars hotel: Not conair in the rooms, not
refrigerators in the rooms. The internet must be paid for wireless
conection.
For TV you must pay additional, because you have acces for only 9
programs which are not interesting. In this hotel only the breathing air is
free. For the rest, you must pay additional money. The hotel is far from the
center, but you can reach easy by train - 3 stops until Central Station.
The bad is very hard and unconfortable - you can feel the springs from the
matress. The bathroom is ugly, looking very old.
The "nice" think is that the elevator is not working for a while and I
understand that it will be like this for a future period, too ( maybe for ever).
If you have big luggage, it is a pleasure to take them at the upper levels. If
you have the rooms to the back of the hotel, you hear the noise from the
train, which passes under the window . If you have windows to the front, in
the weekend you hear the "songs" of drunk men.
