After having read some of the reviews of the hotel, I must admit that I didn't look forward to my trip as much as I might have had. Having won two hotel nights here, I almost cancelled the trip due to bad weather. But I am glad I didn't!
The hotel is perfectly situated, some 15 minutes walk from the Kongen's Nytorv (King's New Square) and is just across the road from Österport railway station, so getting to the centre is definitely not an issue.
Unfortunately, we did have a room facing the railroad tracks and it could be irritating at times. But as "winter travellers" it wasn't that bad. There was no need to open the windows and we pulled the curtains. Noisy at times, but with windows closed not something that woke me up at night.
The TV channel selection is not the best, and neither is the image on the screen. But if you travel to one of the most fascinating to only watch TV, sorry for you.
The rooms were adequate, a medum sized double bed (ok if you travel with your partners otherwise maybe a little small), ok bathroom, unfortunately only combined shower/shampoo dispenser, so bring your own stuff, my hair looked like Dee Snyder's in Twisted Sister (remember?).
We had breakfast included and it was nice, both the food and the room. Not the largest, but it had everything you wanted and was echological. There were 3 computers in the lobby - free of charge, and apparently (although we've forgotten ours) you could have wireless in your room freed of charge as well (but don't take that as a promise).
Something that we appreciated was the coffee/tea machine in the lobby, you could grab a coffee on the go or on arriving. Also the IRMA shop across the road will keep you with provisions if you are on a tight budget. Remember that almost everything is closed on Sundays in Denmark!
The staff was also very friendly and even though this might not have been the best hotel I've stayed in, it was definitely not the worst - as some reviewers have claimed.
