“STUNNING views and great food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

Although we only stayed one evening this is a little hidden gem. Quaint and out of the way, it is a lovely home that Christine has worked into a lovely B and B. We frequently stay at B&B's in the US, so I know what to look for. We were the only guests in our area so we had a private bath in the Panorama room with stunning views to the sea. I can only assume it is really great in season. The beach is rustic(a 10 minute walk) but I assume nice in the summer. Little touches like robes and slippers made it feel homey to us! and the food was FANTASTIC - dinner was superb and our breakfast was fresh and well served! I strongly recommend you check this out if you are staying on Mon!

Room Tip: If available and you like views, go for the PANORAMA room!

“Meditative tranquillity, thoughtful hosts, simple accommodations”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

This is an excellent place if you are looking for a cozy, remote and tranquil retreat in a traditional Danish farmhouse. That said, the little town of Stege is not far by car, it is picturesque and offers a few nice cafés, restaurants and shops.

Our rooms were quaint and colourful in a restored attic, with a shared small bathroom on the ground floor. So not star-spangled quality, but very charming for what it is. Entirely unpresumtuous and that is the style of the guesthouse itself, and the entire island, really.

Most impressive is the uninterrupted view over fields onto the Baltic Sea. The courtyard faces the sea and has a few tables and chairs on which to lounge peacefully while contemplating the immense QUIET off the countryside. There are also some nice flower gardens on the property. However, there is no direct access to the seashore. The sea can be reached in a 10 minute walk along mostly deserted country roads. The narrow beach is only for hardened swimmers though, being rather untidy.

Finally, we very much enjoyed the breakfasts and dinners that were prepared for us. The food was delicious and sophisitcated home-cooking.

Those who enjoy simplicity and meditative peace will be very pleased.

Room Tip: There is a panorama room which offers a beautiful view of the sea. I think all the other rooms only...

“Very cozy and beautiful location. Reccommended”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2011

Highly recommended.

The place is very beautiful, a farmhouse converted into a b & b. The owners very kind, great breakfast (all organic and home-made). The surroundings are perfect for a trip in nature and total relaxation.
The only downside, for those of southern Europe (I'm italian), is that there is no possibility of obscuring the windows during the night and then you must sleep with the light (I use to sleep in complete darkness). But this is a very personal opinion that may not be shared.

“Wonderful guesthouse, close to the sea.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2011

We really enjoyed our stay with Allan and Christine in their lovely guesthouse. It was the last B&B we visited during our journey in Denmark, and definitely the most impressive one!
The room (Hunter) was nicely decorated: very cosy and comfortable!
The surroundings were amazing: such a view you had from the garden! A great environment for a walk or a bike ride.
The food -breakfast as well as dinner- was delicious. A lot of it was local and/or homemade. We saw Christine harvesting the vegetables for our evening dinner in their garden: it doesn't get fresher than that!

“Welcoming, personal and great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 August 2011

This is a great place from which to explore the island. Beautifully situated with an uninterrupted sea view, the owners are friendly and enthusiastic. We stayed in Hunter and Sunset rooms - ideal for a family of 3. Dinner at a long table is available at a reasonable price. Strongly recommended.
