I accompanied my husband on a business trip to a conference being held at the Hotel Propellen. Sometimes, as part of a conference, the hotel can seem very crowded and noisy. Not so here, since the meeting facilities are set to the side and don't seem to interfere with other guests. The front desk staff spoke perfect English and were very attentive any time we had a question or problem. The rooms are big enough and very clean, with nice bathrooms and the much enjoyed electric kettle. The hotel is set across the street from the big Lalandia mall/recreation center but there's no spillover of noise or traffic. You still feel as if you are in the countryside, although a short walk from Legoland and maybe a 15 minute walk to "downtown" Billund (although there's not much there).
The room decor is nice , maybe a bit old fashioned, and the rooms are functional, not exactly luxurious, but pleasant color scheme and everything was very clean. We heard no noise from adjoining rooms or upstairs rooms.
We had dinner in the restaurant one night and it was very good, with good specials on wine. The breakfast buffet was also quite good, with plenty of variety and it was kept up nicely even when we arrived close to closing hours. The staff at the breakfast buffet weren't quite as friendly as at dinner, but you don't need to interact with them anyway.
We'd definitely stay here again -- free wifi too, and it worked perfectly.
