“Legoland Village. The budget choice...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2011

We have been several times to Hotel Legoland in the past, but being the middle of the peak season at Legoland...we looked at a few alternatives, and then booked Legoland Village for the first time. Price was certainly a key factor! It is substantially cheaper for a family of four!

First thing to notice is that the Legoland Village complex is only 500 metres from Legoland itself, with ample free parking (Get your parking display from reception).
Good start.
Lots of families, a little chaotic... but then again what do you except in and around Legoland!
Rooms are a little spartan, more hostel than hotel. But all fine. Coming to Legoland is the main reason for staying, and crashing out after a long day out in the park. You have to hire linen, and make the beds yourself; but again, no problem - again you have to remind yourself it is more of a hostel than a hotel!
No free internet either, but two good things. The fully inclusive deal means you and your kids get to have a solid buffet dinner (not including drinks) and breakfast. Also, a little bonus is the free ticket to the local Billund Bad (swimming pool). It is only a short walk away.
For old time's sake, we popped in to Hotel Legoland for a bite to eat, and realised that although Legoland Village is the cheaper option, it is by no means worse than the more luxury "4 star" Hotel.
If budget is tight, you are far better off here. After all, the kids are super happy anyway, lots for them to see and do at Legoland, and a little saving here means you can splash out a little more in the park itself:-)
In future, I will also check out the other hotels in Bilund, as Legoland Village shows, you can have a nice time elswhere! Legoland Village is a safe bet!

“Worth every penny just to skip the lines at the ticket office”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2011

We stayed here for two nights while visiting Legoland, and while it was one of the most expensive stays of my travelling career, we had two very happy boys who ate, slept and had fun for two days and I guess then it's worth every penny. Being able to skip the lines at the ticket office, having direct access to the park with unlimited exit and re-entry to and from the park (which for us meant a 2-hour break for kid's naps in the middle of the day) was just fabulous. Our kids are 1 and 3, and the view to the park was not necessary for such small kids but a nice perk, as were the small gifts and the legos that were laid out in the room upon check-in.
With the usual Danish eye for design, I was a bit disappointed that the rooms were not in any better condition or that so little emphasis had been made on Danish design elements, but then again, it's legoland and every thing had been designed with lego's in mind - from carpets to tables to shampoo bottles in the bathroom. However for the price you pay you can expect top notch and I our room was a little worn down - no wonder with so many families with small children who stay there every year! We will for sure go back in two years and already look forward to the park and the hotel all over again.

“Really spacious and fantastic brreakfasts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 August 2011

We took our 7 children, and 2 grandparents with us for 4 nights in the 10 person family room. It was brilliant. There were 4 bunk beds and 2 singles, 2 big bathrooms with showers and a big fridge. Plenty of electric sockets and lights for everyone. Legoland is a 5 minute walk away, and you have free entry to Billundbad swimming baths, which is 7 minutes away and huge, with a great 'black hole' slide. Breakfast buffet is included each morning, with cheese, meats, bread rolls, cereals, yogurts, fruit and salad, fruit juices, tea and coffee, as much as you can eat. The staff are lovely and helpful, and you can eat evening meal in the facility, or order take away pizzas, burgers and fries. There is a communal kitchen with oven, microwave, kettle and sink, and plenty of play areas all over the site. Really great.

Room Tip: Rooms are spacious and clean, with duvets and pillows provided - bring covers and sheets!

“I love Legoland village”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2010

I am very happy over the choice. I think I would enjoy this more compared to the expensive option inside Legoland itslef. This one is cozy, down to earth, clean and big rooms and common facilities. The buffet dinner we had was good, selection quite varied. the breakfast is simpler but still lots of selection. I felt safe here because of the presence of many families. The disadvantage was that it could be noisy early morning. The lego theme inside the rooms is appreciated.

Definitely a family hotel I would recommend when going to Legoland Billund.

“Convenient lower (but not low) cost option for Legoland”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 June 2010

I stayed here with my family in April as part of a group event. The location is excellent. Its a 5 minute walk to Legoland park entrance and there are shopping and leisure facilities adjacent and on-site including a water park. Parking is free for guests but don't forget to get a pass at reception.

The accommodation is hostel-like but rooms are private and have own bathrooms etc. Bedding is supplied at extra cost and you return the bedding on check-out. Thus the linen, while spotless, requires a little bit of work on arrival to sort out. This might be a bit of hassle if arriving late with young children especially as the kids were in bunk beds.

There is no cleaning service. Every guest keeps their own room clean so a broom and dustpan would have been helpful.

Breakfast was good and was reasonably priced compared to what one might pay elsewhere.

For groups, there is a communal kitchen and meeting rooms available which came in handy for Lego related socialising.

Hotels in Billund are usually very expensive. The inexpensive Zleep hotel at the airport is within walking distance but I wouldn't fancy the walk in inclement weather. Legoland Village offers a much lower cost alternative if its a bed you are after near Legoland without slumming it.

Would stay here again.
