“Still the best hotel in Aarhus”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

Have stayed here several times for business. And it´s probably still the best hotel in Aarhus. Reception staff is always friendly and professional. The lobby, bar and restaurant are nice, although a bit expensive. And rooms are well-appointed and generally well-kept. Only reason I dont give 5 stars is because the hotel, and especially the rooms and bathrooms, are beginning to look a bit old-fashioned, and showing some wear and tear. 3 new large hotels will open in central Aarhus within the next years, so I think the Radisson Blu soon will have to do a major renovation if they still wants to be no. 1 in Aarhus. But will still definately recommend the hotel.

“Not worthy the high price”

I went there for onenight stand for business trip. Check in and out was express. The breakfast was well prepared with good vareties but with no atmonsphe. The building is trendy, but the room was not clean enough, namely the table, the basin and the toilet was old enough to consider a change. Sleeping quality was good though, however, the highest T was 21C, I am afraid it might be cold for some people.

“Gives Radisson a bad reputation”

From a seasoned traveller, this hotel is seriously the worst I've been to for the price. At most it should only cost 550 DKK for the kind of condition and service. I've stayed in B&B's that are way better and cost less than half.

My review is based on my 4 stays that I had over the course of this year. Each stay lasting between 1 to 3 weeks. Mind you, this is only my own review, my colleagues all had other negative comments. I am in no way trying to discredit this hotel (I have stayed in Radisson hotels that are very nice, for example, in Malmo). This is my honest review.

Pros:
- Good location

Cons:
- horrible state of rooms in desperate need for refurbishment
- rooms are poorly lit
- bad breakfast, especially during the weekends, when there are many people, sometimes the food doesn't even get replenished. The staff seem to think that it is 'ok' to leave the food trays empty and let the customers wait until they don't want to wait longer. Even on weekdays, it takes 20minutes for the cook to fry 2 eggs
- smell of the sewer in the toilet
- dirty bathtub
- leaking shower head
- extremely soft bed
- paper thin pillows
- dusty room (I can see lots of dust collected on my laptop keyboard after each day)
- disgraceful housekeeping (they do not replenish soaps/shower foam/shampoo, I have to write notes or call the front desk to have them replenished)
- rude reception staff - if they're busy and try to call them, they just pick up the phone, say hold on, and leave you on hold until you are fed up and hang up yourself. I later noticed in 1st hand when I was checking out, how they were doing this to other customers. Worst still, the other staff are merely sitting around drinking coffee and chatting behind in their office (I can see them as the office is separated by a glass window), not willing to help the overcrowded reception even though there was a queue of about 6-7 people behind me
- have to pay for gym usage because gym is not a part of the hotel, but it's way too expensive, clearly the hotel has made no effort negotiating for a better deal for its customers

Room Tip: Don't bother with the business rooms, they are just as lousy as the regular rooms with a few ext...

“good location but condition of the toilets were not ideal”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2011

The hotel is in a good location with good sized rooms although the bed was on the small side for a standard room. Buffet breakfast had a good range of items and well worth the money. However, the toilet condition was poor. The area around the toilet bowl smelt of urine and the shower curtain smelt rather dank needing a change. I called the reception to ask them to let housekeeping know. However, although the smell was less pungent..it was still there. Rather unpleasant when using the toilet and certainly not what you'd expect from a hotel!!

Security was also questionable. My husband had taken both hotel cards with him and I returned to the hotel later. I approached the reception and she immediately programmed a new card for me..which is good but no information check was needed to ascertain that I was indeed a guest in that room. That's quite disturbing esp when she had not served me before and def could not recognize me. On the check out, my mom wanted to pay for her own room even though both rooms were put on my credit card and I had already settled mine earlier. The reception gave her card a cursory glance and told her it was the same and printed out the bill. That puzzled us and only on returning back to the counter...the reception realised it was charged to my card instead. The reception staff were friendly and helpful enough but they need to have more training on these matters.

“Nice but souless”

Stayed at the Radisson in August on business.
Its a nice hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful, with excellant English as appaers to be the norm for everyone that I meet in Denmark.
Denmark is not cheap, but I thought the Radissson was pretty dear even with a company discount, and I did'nt think you got much for your money. Breakfast was extra at the equivalent of £16/day, fitness suite was extra, no pool.
Appeared to be a lot of tourists coming and going but they only tended to stay one night. As other reviewers have said, the place always felt dead.
