Just imagine... you step out of the Aalborg railway station, and come to the front of the station. Right across, less than 100m, is Park Hotel. Or, you can step off a long-distance bus at Aalborg Busterminal, walk out to the central Kennedy plaza, and the hotel is right there.
Besides location, the other great aspect of this hotel - as some other reviewers have also noted - is the Old World charm of this place. For example, if you step into the dining room across from the reception, and turn right and look at the wall beside the window, you find historical plaques commemorating friendships of the Aalborg-American Club and the Aalborg-California Club.
The staff is very friendly, would speak English with you if you want, and give you needed guidance about Aalborg.
The breakfast is healthy and hearty: a variety of cereals, breads and rolls, cheeses, cold cuts, jams, fruits, tea, coffee, milk, yogurt, etc.
The rooms are adequate, and the TV has some English channels. No fridge in the room.
Since this is an old hotel, there is only one central elevator shaft, with the "cage" style elevator. This could be a problem if you have lots of luggage, are in a big group, or are in a rush.
But overall, the location and the friendliness makes up for everything else. All the major city bus lines stop here, and a major shopping street - Boulevarden - is to your right as you step out of the hotel front door.
There is free Wi-Fi connectivity, albeit the speed is slow.
