“OK concept, poorly executed. Lack of security a concern.”
Good location; part of a mall with large underground parking, however extremely expensive to park for more than 3 hours. Why has the hotel not negotiated a special guest rate - the car park was almost empty. Parking there for the weekend would have used up the saving that we made by staying here rather than at a more expensive hotel (our Aalborg friends showed us where to park nearby for free). Rooms are in the style of a ships cabin. We upgraded to a Commadore room, which was barely large enough for two adults with 2 airline bags. The tiniest room I have ever stayed in, even on board ferries. I have no idea how 2 people would fit into a smaller, standard room. Front of house is nice, as is breakfast area, and breakfast. BUT there is potentially a security problem. The rooms are on floors accessed from the same stair well as the car park - i.e. outsiders can enter the bedroom corridors from the car park without passing reception. Similarly, the guests pass through the bare stairwells, where outsiders could easily hide. As a minimum, there should be security locks (activated by the usual key-cards) to make the hotel corridors secure and CCTV in the stairwells. Overall very disappointed - for 200 Kr (£20/$30) more, we could have had a real room in a real hotel. It was not particularly low price and everything in the room had a feeling of being pared to the bare bones.
