We travelled to Odense to support Motherwell football club. The hotel is in the outskirts of the city but it's only 10-15 mins walk to the centre of Odense which is a lovely town with friendly people. The rooms are pretty basic but had everything we needed and were very clean.

Stayed in this hotel for one night on a trip to watch a Eupopa League Football match. I was on an all-inclusive trip so am unsure as to the cost of the hotel but overall I was more than satisfied by the standard of the hotel.

Hotel was clean , staff were friendly and there was free wifi, coffee and snacks available all day. Rooms were clean as was the en-suite bathroom. Location was close to station and city centre. If I were ever back in Odense I would definitely stay here

There's lots included in the 700 dkk we paid for the room - parking, coffee, wifi, breakfast etc. However nice that is it's still just an average hotel. The standard and the rooms are ok, don't expect to go "wow" when you enter. The neighbourhood is a road, a construction site and a train station, but it's ok because the charming city center is just around the corner.

Went to Ansgar on a weekend trip to visit Odense. We got a package including dinner and breakfast for a reasonable price. The hotel was quite easy to find when coming by train and by using my mobile GPS. The room was a bit small, but nicely decorated and certainly with comfortable beds. We even got an extra bed, which we asked for, without any raise in price. Staff was friendly and we could check in a bit earlier than expected.

However, we were promised coffee and cake at two o'clock, which we looked forward to, but it turned out that the coffee was from a machine and that the cake wouldn't be served until three o'clock. A bit disappointing. We had no problems with noise from the street as we could keep windows closed. Finding our way to points of interest in Odense from the hotel was easy, again helped by the GPS.

Dinner was a christmas buffet with a huge amount of different dishes. Certainly, noone would get round to all of them. The food was well-cooked, though nothing special. I was particularly fond of the roast, which was perfectly cooked for my kind of liking (medium, a bit red, but not rare). Danish meat balls to go. Service was quick, attentive and friendly.

Needless to say, the room as well as the rest of the hotel was clean. We did not try out the shower, due to our short visit. Seemed okay, though. This also means we did not try out the service level of changing towels and topics like that.

Based on our experiences using this special christmas offering from the hotel, I would whole-heartedly recommend the place, though you might want to look into the dinner issue some people have mentioned. Don't worry too much about the fact that they use automatic coffee machines, as they're okay, though not outstanding.
