“fantastic place, fantastic staff”

we recently stayed at the Skopelos Village 'sea breeze suite'. It was modern, spacious and a pool right outside. The food was great and we had or 6yo daughter with us and the staff were fantastic with her. The hotel is around the bay from the main part of the town (10min walk) but it meant the you had a stunning view of the town from the restaurant. Highly recommend this place.

“The best part of our trip!”

We just returned from a 3 week trip to the Greek Islands, and without fail the Island of Skopelos was my favorite. I'm sure this is in large part due to the beautiful Skopelos Village Hotel.

Our room was gorgeous. I would actually like to live there forever! It felt like a modern town home, with the beauty of a traditional Greek home. The kitchenette and living room are downstairs with a little patio right next to the pool. (We felt like it was our own private pool!) The upstairs had a lovely bedroom and bathroom with a second balcony area overlooking the pool. Stunning!

This property is amazing. The grounds are so pretty. Grass, trees, flowers! Gorgeous.
The staff are so sweet and helpful. Breakfast was wonderful with lots of excellent choices. Probably my favorite breakfast of out trip. During dinner one evening, they had live Greek music with a wonderful singer and excellent bouzouki player. Fantastic!

It's a short 5 to 10 minute walk to Skopelos town with plenty of tavernas and cafes.

Why did we have to leave??

“A nice boutique hotel”

Stayed here during the last week of September in room 16 which is a one bedroom apartment. Hotel was well kept and within easy walking distance of the town which has a large selection of tavernas. Our room was a nice size for 2 although it did say it could sleep 4 - I assume using the sofas as beds. We stayed self-catering and ate breakfast and lunch in the room most days. We had a small kitchenette which was adequate for our needs. There is a small supermarket 5-10min walk down the road and some larger ones a little further on. We had a nice patio and only a couple of steps down to the pool. I think because we were there at the end of the season and also the weather wasn't great, the pool area was very quiet. Although menus did appear at the poolside around lunchtime at the main pool, refreshments were never offered at the 2nd pool. Having just read other peoples reviews, I've just found out that there was actually a third pool - obviously we should have explored more! The sun loungers aren't that comfortable and some of the white chairs round the 2nd pool are in need of repair. The pool was icy cold but refreshing on a hot day. The only negatives to our room were the small bathroom with the strange shower/bath which was a bit of a tight squeeze and the hard beds. The nights were quite cool when we were there and we had to ask for extra blankets. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We ate two meals at the hotel restaurant, both of which were very nice. Keep your eye out for the stray cats as they will try to get into your rooms and can be very quick! We asked a few locals where to eat and they recommended Anna's, Alexander's Taverna and Rodi's (or Podi's can't remember) which is next to Alexander's. The taverna underneath the castle/fort was also nice. Explore the streets behind the waterfront as there are some shops and also some churches and pretty houses.

If you can either hire a car or use the local bus service to explore the island. It was very windy when we were there and the hydrofoil left from Agnondas, so you could get away from the wind if you travelled to other parts of the island.

It was a long day of travelling to get to the island - we caught a 7.10am flight out of Gatwick and didn't arrive at the hotel until about 5pm - but to a very friendly welcome.

We missed the welcome meeting with the rep on the first morning, but I would recommend going if you can as they will probably tell you about the local buses, supermarkets etc. Make sure you pick up one of the free street maps of Skopelos town - a lot of the shops stocked them - it would have bee useful to have one in the room but maybe the rep would have given us one.

“It lived up to our expectations!”

We found this hotel from an article in Women & Home Magazine suggesting a place to go for late Summer Sun, it did not disappoint!

The journey to Skopelos is a full day of travelling (specially if your flight is late, we were delayed by 1 hour) and have to wait in Skiathos for the hydrofoil, however El Greco restaurant is good for something to eat and drink whilst waiting, they will even look after your luggage.

Skopelos Village is just fabulous. The staff so very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. As recommended on other reviews we upgraded to a Sea Breeze Suite( Room 1) This is on the front overlooking the sea, however if it is windy make sure you shut the shutters as you think you are in a hurricane if not! The suites are very spacious and equipped to a high standard. The cleanliness of the rooms is spotless. Another tip, however make sure you keep your door closed as ours had been left open when the maid ws cleaning and we arrived back to find one of the many cats snuggled up under the coffee table!

The food at breakfast is good, not a huge variety but adequate for what you need, there is a choice of hot items also, would recommend fresh fruit to be served.

We had dinner on two occaisions and this was excellent, one was the Greek night and the other was the night they had Greek singers entertaining is. The portions in Skopelos are large and so we often shared a main course and salad and I have a good appetite! As we were there at the end of September it was a little chilly in the evenings and so we finished the evening off with a hot chocolate, I can highly recommend these especially if Kiki makes them, they are delicious! Mohitos are excellent but pricey at 9.50 Euro's, however treat your self to at least one!

A local restaurant to recommend is Moyzee's which is approx 200m from the hotel. The service is fantastic and food wonderful but again large portions. The rocket salad is highly recommended and as for the Kleftiko....!!

Weather tip, if it is cloudy and windy in Skopleos town head to the beaches on the south of the Isand, Limonari and Agnodas are much more sheleterd and much less cloud! The Taverna in Agnodas nearest the port side is fabulous too, great for lunch!

All in all an amazing holiday if you are just going for a week, there is a lot of trafvelling but as part of Island hopping or a 10/14 night holiday...perfect..we wished we could have stayed longer!!

Room Tip: Sea Breeze Suites are worth the upgrade!

“An excellent, relaxing, quality hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011 via mobile

We found this hotel through Tripadvisor and were very happy with the result. Our studio room was large and well fitted out with a separate bedroom, kitchen, living room and two balconies.
From the start we were made very welcome by the excellent staff at the reception and later in the restaurant.
The hotel is like a small village with various apartments, swimming pools (3 that we found) paths and a restaurant. Even though there were several families staying it was always quiet and calm.
A short stroll along the sea front to the main town and then a bus ride to any of the amazing beaches. A wonderful holiday
