Well what can I say.
We done an allocation on arrival and really couldn't understand why our bags had to go off on a small van with a local guy, when we were going on the coach! It was something to do with the fact that a coach couldn't get near the hotel!!!
We got on our coach and had only been driving for about 20 mins when we came across the area we were allocated. I was gutted. There was building works going on, and we were walking down dirt tracks to try and get to our hotel. When we arrived our bags were already there and the rooms were basic........2 single beds (acceptable when the temperatures were in the 100s) two ring cooker, fridge, sink and shower room with a toilet.
It was basic!! No pool, no reception (the owner lives just up the track from the hotel) but it was so pretty.
After finding our bearngs and getting changed we wandered down the road outside the appartments towards what looked like a busier area. It was after not more than a five minute walk we came across the town. It was so beautiful!!!
We hired a moped to explore the island, which is tiny but with so much to see. Again the whole place was fantastic.
I'm not going to go on and on but I will say..........
I'd go again in the blink of an eye. It's one of the most beautiful places I have ever been and I have travelled considerably.
The hotel is basic, but if you want an clean tidy base right in the heart of it you couldn't find a better hotel.
The town is made for romance and people watching. Although I would say it wasn't really somewhere you'd take the kids.
Even in July we found empty beaches with no more than a Greek guy in a small hut selling drinks on it.
Best holiday of my life :-)
