We have just come back from the Eye Q Resort. The most disappointing thing was that the bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in, It was extremely hard and we didn't get a good night sleep all the 2 weeks we were there, plus every bone in my body ached by the end of my holiday, It took at least a couple of night in my own bed to recover. The rooms were supposed to have Wi-Fi, but we could log onto the internet at all apart from we had to go outside along the path when we finally got the internet, not ideal, especially since we had 3 days of rain while we were there and unable to go outside. There was quite a walk into town, which we knew, but in retrospect we should have got a property in Skiathos town, would have been much more convenient. Stavros seemed ok at first, but by the end I really felt that I was just more money in the bank. Apartment was clean, but typical Greek standard, things just not quite finished. Old fridge but clean, shower has loose drain on floor, not enough sockets in room and in very awkward places. No privacy in terrace area plus we where next to the main path so people could see in all the time unless you had the shutter shut, which wasn't ideal. Air con worked, plus no extra charge, which was good for Greece. Skiathos is too small for us, nothing really to look at apart from a monastry and Kastro (old capital). Plenty of beaches if that all you want to do. Second year of going away to Greece in September and having rain. Next year, June or July and definately not Skiathios. Beware of Stavros making you sign the 'guest book' if he takes you back to the airport as he stands and watches you write a review, which we saw him as we had to look at our computer outside all the time. Saying that in our case he left the book with us but only because he took someone else to the airport before us. Didn't have good vibe in Skiathos, most people, including Stavros, are not genuine people and you really did feel like a walking wallet. And as for the gym area, well, the so called sauna wasn't on once, the jaccuzi also was not working as well as being cracked in places, you just thought that you would catch something if you went in it (old and neglected). Had a bike, rowing machine etc, but the whole area wasn't very inviting and never saw anyone there.

Your reservation was for a standard studio and upon arrival we offered you an upgraded to a superior studio without any additional charge. Also we offered to you free of any charge meet and greet service and both transfers from and to airport.
Referring mattress: During your whole stay you never complained to us that the mattress was too hard. If you had done so we would have offered you an additional orthopedic soft overtop mattress. Sleeping preferences are not the same for all people but we do our best in order to satisfy most of them (if not all of them). However we are sorry that you did not appreciate the good quality of our beds as all are with anatomic mattresses and anatomic bed frames.
Referring wifi: During your whole stay there were 2 days of rain. There was a general problem over the island of Skiathos and there were a few disconnections. It was not actually an issue of our wifi system but an issue with the adsl line going down due to bad weather conditions.
Referring walking distance: If you preferred to stay in town, then you should have stayed in town. In our website all distances are 100% true and precisely described. It is not our fault if you do not agree with your choice.
Referring sockets in studio: In your upgraded superior studio of 27sq.m there are 7 electrical sockets. We do strongly believe that they are more than enough for two persons.
Referring Hydropool, Sauna and Gym: For the safety of our guests, the use of sauna and hydropool is subject to prior reservation. Upon arrival we delivered to you detailed information for the use of Sauna and Hydropool Spa we which it is it clearly stated: ‘ …use of above equipment is subject only to prior reservation at least one day in advance. Commencement of use should be only under the supervision of a representative of Eye Q Resort …’ At any other time (for safety reasons) both Hydropool and Sauna are electronically locked. We are sorry if you tried to used it without informing us and you did not manage to operate it. It would be simpler if you had booked your session – free of charge – one day in advance.
Referring your comments about Stavros & guestbook: Since our first year of operation, we kindly ask our guests if they would like to write a personal comment to our guestbook. In our website there is a special link and we include all comments from our guests from more than 48 nationalities. We kindly asked you and you replied positively. We delivered you the guestbook which you completed and when you delivered it back to me with the key of your room we departed for the airport for your return flight (complimentary service with no extra charge). We hereby forward your review in our guestbook which is totally oxymoron and opposite to your review in tripadvisor.

As you mention, you did not have good vibe in Skiathos, you did not like the island, most of the people of the island made you feel like a ‘walking wallet’, you complain of the 2 days that was raining, 7 sockets in your studio were not enough, sauna, hydropool and excellent equipment of gym was not inviting etc . Actually you complain about everything. With my active experience of 40 years in the tourist industry, it is more than obvious that nothing could make your holidays enjoyable and special. We do believe that even if you were in another island or another accommodation with another host there would be the same or similar complaints.
Finally please when you think or write about Greeks and Stavros please try to write in a more correct way and not impolite and abusing one. Stavros is more than genuine, original and professional, … I know him better that you. This is more than obvious if you read the rest of the reviews in Tripadvisor, in our website from all our guests (48 different nationalities) as well as in some of the world’s biggest online reservations systems.
