“A total disaster”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2010

I've booked a room for a week in August 2010 on the very first days of May, 2010. We agreed (by phone) on the price (50 e/night instead of the standard 60 as I need a double room for a single person), and I recalled them the day I was arriving: they didn't tell me of any problem. Since May they had my phone number, should any problem arises.

On the arrival (and from Athens, via Agios Kostantinos, is a 5+ hour trip with bus and ferry) the old lady running it told me that she doesn't remember my reservation; plus that she hasn't any room for me. I asked her to check in other hotels, and she was unable to find an accomodation. So I asked her to come with me at the tourist office, to help finding a solution, and she refused. She suggested me to search for an hotel in the neighboorhood of Skiathos, where it could be possible to find a room: basically, she tried to get rid of me as soon as possilbe, also with a crying voice, telling me that I was not the only one with this "overbooking" problem that day, some others are arriving and she didn't have any room for them.
It was quite difficult to find a room in Skiathos on a Saturday day of August, at some point one of the options was to move to another island in the nearby or ask the police station to help me in finding an accomodation, even maybe in the police station itself. Got the idea of the size of the problem? Only because someone is totally not professional?

It seems to me that the owners of this hotel are not up to the task, that they didn't care at all for you, and should a problem happens they'll simply leave you in the mess.
I don't recommend nor suggest this hotel, even to my biggest enemy: it's not a professional service, it's a game of chance.

“Disaster! Run for your lives!”

What a horrible experience! I would not recommend this "hotel" to my worst enemy!
Dirty,no hot water, tiny (and I do mean tiny!) balconies and very very loud....The lady that rents out this dump was dazed and confused and never to be found....I was there from July 29 till August 7th and I literally got 3 hrs of sleep every night simply because the cannibals that "lived" next/above us had no common courtesy or class to respect other people! They would scream, slam doors, walk down the stairs in their heels w/ no consideration for others and we asked Miss Giota to do something about it she would just stare at us like we had 5 heads! Oh to top it all off....we were moved twice simply to make room for a party of 6 in a room that was clearly made for 4 people as a result having us (3 people) squeeze into a room that mostly resembled a closet and having my cousin sleep on of those tiny little army beds from the 60's! As for the so called balcony....let me just put it this way.....I actually thought I was visiting the village of the smurfs.....It was so tiny ....I couldn't even fit my elbow! What a joke! I will never return to this horrible hotel I would rather rent a dog house in someone's yard....I think it would be roomier and cleaner! Run away people...don't just walk away! Seriously.......

“Great location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2008

I came back from here ten days ago. I'm still on vacation mode (seeing as I'm still on vacation until Spetember, the perks of being a teacher) so this might be a short and maybe even messy review.

The hotel is in a great area. Right in the town of Skiathos but in a quiet street too. A few minutes walk from the port.

The owners were nice. Well, the son was. He was VERY helpful The mom wasn't the nicest person I've ever met. I'm not saying she was mean but there was something about her. Anyway, I would mostly deal with Costa and he was a great guy so I guess that's what counts.

Old hotel but I didn't mind for the price we were paying. 30 euros a night for a double room (from July 5th to July 12th, great price for that time period).

We were on the second floor and the son, Costa, was nice enough to bring our stuff upstairs. That was a first. Maybe it was cause we were two girls with big luggage. No pun intended. By the way, no elevator so if you have a problem climbing stairs ask if they have rooms on floor level. Also, there's a step to go into the bathroom (at least in our room) so you should ask about that too if that's something you don't like.

The shower head didn't have a good water flow. Probably has a salt build up.

I'll add pics so whoever's interested in going can have a look for themselves. Please ignore the mess.

By the way, if you ever go to Skiathos and you go to Agia Eleni beach, avoid the umbrellas on the right (as you go in) cause the guy that rented them out wasn't very nice to us. Not so good for Skiathos tourism. Oh and on all beaches the umbrellas with two lounge chairs cost 8 euros to rent out.
