“We loved it and will be back.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2011

While staying with my family at parents house i Ermioni we decided to take a spur of the moment trip to Hydra. We wandered around and stumbled upon this hotel, we didnt think somewhere so gorgeous would be within our price range let alone have a room at such short notice. We were pleasantly surprised on both counts.I admit it was ed of season so we had the room for a cheap price and breakfast would have been nice as not included. We stayed in the Themis room, very romantic, very clean and great shower and Korris products felt very indulgent.Great jacuzzi to cool off in after some serious walking to top of island was very welcome. My only disappointment was that Room Service was closed at midnight, so we had to find a Kefenion for some take away wine.If you to escape with your partner for some time out and TLC this is the place on Hydra to go.

Room Tip: Turn up out of the blue at end of season for a great bargain.

“The hotel that gave my family and I the chance to relax completely.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2011 via mobile

Great place to relax, the hot tub is ideal since the temperature of the water is lowered so it is refreshing in the very hot weather. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the air conditioning is very useful. The staff were very helpful and were always keen to help. It is situated near a very cute and quiet restaurant and it is also near a supermarket. It is near the port too. Only thing is to be careful on the slippy stones that lead to and from the hotel.

“Nice location, but needs some serious soundproofing!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2011

The location was very close to the main town/port and in a quiet area. It was about a 3 minute walk into the main town. The room was very nice & clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom and the balcony was quite big (though there were no views).

You can literally hear every single sound which occurs in the hallway and in the rooms directly next to you. It is a shame because the hotel is nice otherwise. They also have an odd 11:30am checkout time.

Room Tip: Take a donkey ride from the port to the hotel :-)

“Nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2011

Stayed in the Angelica for 2 nights while island hopping. The hotel was really cosy , great welcome and good facilities in the room. When we arrived we had a look around the hotel - we were sure the website said there was a pool. Eventually found it across the road/path when we realised it was also part of the hotel. The area here was small, but we had it to ourselves for most of the time.

Hydra island generally is really nice for a few days - nice for walking and to sit out in the port and watch the world go by with a glass of wine. The hotel is 5 mins walk uphill (no steep but a bit slipperly when raining).

“I would never recommend this hotel”

This is the first time I decide to sit down and write a review for anything. My stay at Hydra’s Angelica Hotel can be considered as the worst hotel experience of my life. I and my girlfriend booked this 4 star hotel for two nights as she’s working in the hotel business (not the same one) as well and her holidays are very limited. The price was high but the place looked nice hence we chose it. We arrived at Hydra on Wednesday evening, went directly from the port to the hotel room, left our luggage, took the key with us and started looking for a restaurant. Both of us clearly remembered that I had my sunglasses on before we leave the room, and I that I‘d left them on the bed as it was pretty dark by that time. When we got back a few hours later to go to sleep; the sunglasses were not there, or anywhere else in the room. Next day, I informed the reception about the incident. Their attitude was unacceptable as they tried to force me believe that my memory is playing tricks at me. They were completely negative at the possibility of someone being able to break in our room.

On the second and last night of our stay, during the evening, we left the room for a night out, and my girlfriend carefully locked the door twice in front of my eyes, and then she left the key at the reception without thinking how silly this could prove. We were still struggling to believe that my sunglasses were in fact stolen. However we couldn’t imagine what was going to follow. We came back 5 hours later (two hours after midnight) and found our room’s door unlocked. Next day we were checking out, went back to the reception to complain, where we had to face the most unacceptable and arrogant attitude. The reception guy said that he could not do anything for us. Despite he kept on presenting pointless and stupid arguments that he was making up on the same time (e.g. He said they have CCTV installed –Big lie, CCTV was not installed outside our room or even the hallway and balcony) We were really annoyed by what had happened, mostly because this is a 4 star hotel. When you spend such a large part of your salary on their business, and lose a pair of sunglasses that cost a significant amount of money, you at least expect to get an adequate treatment or behavior, both which were absent on every conversation between us and the reception.
