We stayed here for 4 nights in the middle of June 07. We were looking for something reasonably priced, central and clean and this is exactly what we got. For 50 euros per night it was actually better than i expected.
We were given a large, airy room with 3 beds and with a lovely terrace right outside. The room and bathroom were extremely clean (although the shower curtain kept swinging open and soaking the floor which was a little annoying!) and the air con was a godsend!
The actual property is built in a very Greek style with a small, sunny courtyard and the rooms off it, although each one seems quite private.
The hotel is a 3 minute walk down a charming cobbled lane to the harbour. Hydra is our new favourite Greek island, seriously chilled and very beautiful. I think we arrived just before peak season so it was still quiet and easy-going every evening.
The shops, bars and restaurants are really excellent, unique and with lovely staff. The Omilas restaurant, situated out at the edge of the harbour is a wonderful place for a really romantic meal, very stylish and sleek.
Although there is no pool, you are only ever 3-4 mins from a jump into the gorgeous blue sea so you don't really notice the lack of a pool.
I'd recommend Hydra, and the Alkionides, to anyone and everyone, it really is paradise!
