Crownview is somewhat of a jewel in a sparkling sea. The owners are from Aegina/California, and have combined the best of real Greece with a superb service ethic. My wife and I have stayed twice (June 05 & July 07), each time bringing 3-4 additional couples / families. All of us will return again.
The rooms are elegantly simple, comfortable and well-appointed with clean sheets & towels (changed regularly), modern AC, a compact kitchen with fridge and a lounging balcony view of the Aegean to die for.
Owner-operator Nick A, is a wonderful man and has proved himself to be dedicated to making sure we had the best holiday we could. Whether handling the initial enquiry about a room, to helping with a minor emergency during our stay, and finally waving a regretful goodbye on our return to London, Nick was the epitome of friendly professionalism: many hoteliers could learn from him.
The beach is a 30 second amble from the rooms, and six local tavernas are no more than 3 minutes' stroll. Marathonas is around 5km from the main town of Aegina, and a similar distance from the fishing village of Perdika. Taxis cost around 5 Euros each way, and are usually easy to hail, but Nick will phone for you if you would like to book them. During the week the two Marathonas beaches are relatively quiet, but fill up with relaxed Athenians at the weekend.
So whilst I fear that too many positive reviews like this one might mean limited available rooms next year, I'm not concerned: Crownview deserves success, and my wife has already booked our 4 rooms for next Easter (and we only arrived home last night ...)!
