Thassos is a beautiful island and I cannot recommend it enough. Although there is plenty of tourism here, it hasn’t lost its Greek character. Its steeped in history and its all around to see.
There is so many hidden gems, such as glifonery cove - a small secluded beach, with a taverna that serves grilled large hot chillies – a must for anyone who likes spice. Kasaviti is a must – Go for dinner one evening, its beautiful.
Golden beach is beautiful, but our favourite is Aliki Beach.
It’s one of those places that you can do as much or as little as you like.
On the many occasions my Husband and I have visited we have stayed at the Ilio Mare Beach hotel and we have never had cause for complaint.
The hotel itself is of a very high standard, higher than any we have stayed in in any of the Greek islands we have visited. (and we have visited many)
The hotel decor is beautiful, the facilities very well maintained. The personal details are Personal with a capital P. There has obviously been a lot of thought and a lot of time gone into the making of this hotel .
The rooms are very comfortable and spacious and have all the requirements you need and more. All Staff have always been welcoming, forthcoming with information whether it be about the hotel or the islands attractions and have always been very friendly.
We love the location of the hotel, its in a quiet spot which is ideal for a relaxing & restful holiday after many months of working hard, saying that it is only a short walk (10 mins) away from some restaurants and shops, ideal after the evening meal to take a stroll
The Breakfast and evening meal is buffet style and caters for many tastes. There is a large selection and the quality is very good.
There is also an a'la carte restaurant at the hotel and this is chef’ed by a wonderful friendly chef who has worldly experience and this is reflective in the dishes available.
We were so impressed with this hotel we hosted our wedding here in 2005 flying our family and friends over from the UK, all of which commented on what a wonderful hotel and holiday it was.
I have not enough words to commend the level of detail and attention that went into our wedding - It was an amazingly perfect day.
In fact so many of our guests commented on it being the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to, and it is still held in high regard, with the ceremony & reception still being talked about!
The hotel has recently had further renovations that has made it even more opulent and luxurious.
I have no concerns in recommending this hotel to anyone, which I have done and continue to do so and all that have return having had a great holiday.

It was a bad experience.I will not go again there.
Indeed is not a 5 stars hotel,maybe a 2 or maxim 3 stars.
The rooms are with sea view just at two floor because of trees in front,the beach is not with sand bat with little stones and food was the worst experience in my life.
In spring is very cold in rooms.
The hotel is quite far from the village center.

Clearly, not 5 stars hotel, but a good report quality/price (we was at the end of JUne, 2011). A interesting outdoor swimming-pool, a very nice beach (with a very beautiful beach bar and exceptional beach restaurant, a wonderfull view in the evening from atrium bar terrace and very friendly staff.

No way a 5 stars hotel, not even a 4 stars hotel (as we expected because is in Greece).
On the arrival we were informed that we have to pay 131 euro extra because we didn't came by plane. Finally problem was solved with a telephone to our travel agency.
The front desk personnel is not very friendly and willing to help.
The food was average. In the morning the same dishes every day. In the evening was a little bit varied but still average. The waiters were clumsy, no napkins on the tables, no extra cutlery, no ice cream.
The room was small, but I have to admit that was clean.
The sun beds on the beach must be paid but the services there were great.
The swimming pool is large but not very deep and the water was cold.
Their logo is "Meet with paradise". This is a good joke. Do not go there if you want a quality vacation!
