“A little gem”

Just returned from a fortnight at the Amfitriti and enjoyed every minute.

Yes, it is basic but, if you're a Greece lover you'll know exactly what to expect.

The big asset was the pool which was never crowded and always relaxing.

A 15 minute walk from Molyvos Harbout but there are bars, tavernas and shops within 2 or 3 minutes from the hotel.

Ideal for a chilled out, relaxing, quiet holiday. Very little to disturb you even in late July/early August

“A lovely stay”

We booked last minute having been to Molyvos over 8 years ago and stayed out of town. This is much closer to town, a lovely quiet,,two storey stone built hotel with a nice garden, small pool and great atmosphere. Ony down side was our room had no balcony and the hotel was full so could not swap. So I would check beforehand if you want one. The breakfast is fresh bread, cold meat, cheese slices, hard boiled eggs, jam and some sort of cake with orange juice tea and coffee. We thought that was adequate. There are plenty of places to eat out later on in the day. It is on a small side road which we did not find at all noisy just a few bikes, vans cars not the M1 by any stretch. It was quite peaceful and relaxing and the staff are nice. They are there if you need them not overbearing. I love Molyvos although girls be aware that the cobbled streets, steep inclines and uneven surfaces are no place for heals and platforms unless you are willing to struggle and risk a broken ankle. It's quite a climb up to the castle and the bars up there, but downhill to the charming harbour with good restaurants, a great atmosphere and friendly surroundings. We went on the sunset cruise, which set off at 6pm (a bit early we thought as we ended up sitting waiting for ages till the sun set just after 8.30 pm). Not sure I would pick that one again. We won't leave it too long before we go back again and would choose this hotel. The dog is lovely too and we never saw any dog mess while we were there. The taxi drivers were on strike all week but the hotels got us to and from the airport with no hitches. A great week

“Marvellous Molyvos”

Molyvos was one of the destinations that we had visted before and have thought of going back to. It has hardly changed in the intervening 8 years between visits. It is as lovely and relaxing now as it was then, and the Amfitriti is a brilliant place to be based to enjoy it.

“We'll be back ......!”

Lovely area, nice place to stay, great location, gracious owners, beautiful scenery, lots of decent restaurants - some very good - one of the best holidays we've had. Admittedly we went in May when all the flowers were out ! Very little to find fault with. You need to be able to do some climbing about if you really want to see anything. Recommend trip to Petrified Forest - never seen anything like it.

“Great location in lovely Molyvos”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2010

In my opinion the best location in Molyvos - quiet lane near the beach, lovely view of castle, just on the edge of the old town and a short stroll back from the harbour (needed a stroll after after pigging out one of the restaurants!)

I almost don't want to tell anyone about it because I don't want it to be fully booked if I go again!

The only downside is the breakfast isn't very good. But I was usually up too late for breakfast anyway. Fridge in room means you can keep your own drinks and snacks in your room.
