The Imperial is quite an unusual hotel. It has alot going for it, but its certainly not as luxurious as the name implies.

Overall the hotel is very clean and well kept. The floors are marble, the furnishings all antique in style. The lobby is quite elegant.

Its a tiny hotel. 5 rooms per floor as far as I could tell. (great thing is there are 3 elevators so you don't get stuck waiting on busy mornings) The room was small with darkwood furniture. Its not a business hotel - I found no available internet connection, in fact there isn't really a place to put a laptop either. The bed was firm but comfortable. The bathrooom was small but spotlessly clean.

Location was very good. Its in a nice leafy street which is right off the main drag and only a 5 minute walk from the sea. There are plenty of "gyros" vendors plus several cafes, and a short walk away are dozens of very nice restaurants and cafes. Thessaloniki is blessed that way.

Breakfast was a bit mixed. I found the eggs they prepared inedible, but that might be a personal taste issue since they appeared to have some kind of cheese cooked into them. There was a very limited selection of breads, and no toast, but there was an excellent selection of Greek pastries.

Overall, this is a very nice 3 star hotel. No frills in faciilities, but location, cleanliness and upkeep make it worthy of consideration.
