Hi all. My review will mainly relate to what they offer for lunch.
The hotel does not have lunch. But they encourage you to order a-la-carte at the bar, which has a blackboard displayed with their specialties offered, among which, freska psaria (fresh fish). So I ask what fresh fish they have (of those 5 types they list in the menu). And they say "So sorry, we don't have any fresh fish today". So they try ti comfort you with shrimps, and being by the sea, you gladly accept and order some Retsina (famous low-budget but authentic white greek wine). And they say day don't have any Retsina!. So you order the cheaper red wine, which is 18 eur per bottle. But in 5 minutes they come back and say "sorry, but shrimps just finished, you are so unlucky today"! so you order whatever pork they have and they bring you red wine which is awfully refrigerated, and you try to educate them that you never serve red wine at the same temperature as you serve bear! At the end they bring you the meals, half of which were not what you ordered! And the girl goes "Oh, I'm sorry, but we didn't have this, is that a problem?!" And you are sick of this awful apologetic sound, you calm down and you don't care. And you say, "no, nothing is a problem anymore girl, I just know I will never eat here again". And you finish your lousy meal, with no seafood and retsina while you sit by the sea, and the bill you get, is nothing you can match the menu (if you ordered a 6.5 euro something and all items in the bill are to the round euro, you don't need to understand greek to know something is wrong). And that happens on a Friday, at the beginning of September when the hotel is full.
Not to mention the awfully small bathroom, with the water flush which hardly flushed. And the reception lady which seemed to be nice, but was actually more sarcastic than nice. And postcards?? Don't even think of getting them there.
Now, a four star? Yeah....
