“Great location, but DO NOT stay at the weekend.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

We had a lovely suite, with own sitting room, bathroom and bedroom. Plenty of room, well decorated, bathrobes, sea view and balcony. The downside is that the hotel is on the edge of the disco, restaurant district and the weekends are a nightmare if you want to get to sleep before 0500. The positive side of course is that we were able to walk to some lovely restaurants in a few minutes.

The breakfast had a great choice but all the hot food was cold. There seems to be little understanding about keeping the food warm. As a result we did not eat in the restaurant at all for dinner as we were concerned that the same might apply. The gym is 2 star and the pool, which is in a different place is fine if there is only one of you in it.

We found the staff to be helpful, charming and friendly.

“Not Quite 5-Star but......”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

Many +Ives ( very good value on Jan/Feb early 'deals' basis, lovely clean, well kept Hotel)) but let down by a) inexperienced & and b) unfriendly staff (no arrival welcome, no porterage, no ' how show-u-to your room', Sir etc),- you D-I-Y!. Breakfast quite good but let down again by generally unfriendly staff and certainly notbin the 5* class. Fitness centre has improved since Nov/December contributor could only find a roomful of broken-down machines BUT still a) hard to find, b) old and hardly acceptable machines and equipment, but modern sauna and changing arrangements EXCEPT: gym on Lower Ground floor and the Pool (small but well-kept and Warm!) on Mezzanine floor, 2 floors above!!! ( Challenge re attire n being in lift, semi-naked!) BUT,and this really is 5* plus: the Jan/Feb offer of free up-grade to Junior suite for 5 nts or more is Excellent value - very large triple room with large bedroom n lounge + excellent large bathroom very welcome indeed. Overall then Great value, good location, super rooms.

“Nice building, horrible room, excellent breakfast !!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2011

Booked only one night, for a one day excursion to Thessaloniki.
The area is great and very convenient. The building from the outside is very nice, with an art deco approach.
It was rebuilt on 2006 but now it looks much older than this.
The room was well below medium. The mattress was not confortable and a) the CRT TV, b) the moldy and badly maintained bathroom, c) the fainted, stained and badly maintained carpet, ALL were giving an impression of an old hostel / 2 star hotel, rather than a 5 star hotel, as promised on hotels.com, from which we though we got a great offer of 85 euros (BB)... Well, maybe it was the "cheap" rate we paid that led us to room 304, one of the worst if not the worst "5star" rooms we have ever been.
The breakfast on the other hand was very rich, with great quality, impressive variety and good service. It really made amends to the overall stay experience we had..
As a conclusion: I don't know if it was this specific room that made me regret the fact I chose a non modern hotel. I am sure, though that there are much much better hotels in Thessaloniki more modern with much greater standards..
The people who work there are doing their best, but it is not enough...
Sorry, but avoid it. If you can....

Room Tip: We asked for a non smokers room, with view on a the highest possible floor. We got a room on the sec...

“good hotel-very good location”

We stay for one week at the end of Nov.2011.This hotel has large rooms, nice furniture, small verandas and good breakfast. Many rooms have face to the port and the high floors have seaview. The location is closed to "Ladadika" with a lot of restaurants, bars, disco ect until after midnight, but that means noisy.Avoid to use the pool, because during our stay the water was...half clorium-half water and were destroyed our bath costumes. The stuff is typical gentle, but in the restaurant is warm, smiled and helpfull. The normal price is high [as usual in Greece hotels are overprised],but we had a special cheep price.Location is centrally [300 m.from Aristotelous sq.].We suggest to use the buses in Thessaloniki, there is very good net, cheep tickets and station out of the hotel and many other lines in distance 50 to 200 m.

“Truely, a 5-star hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2011

The hotel is excellent; The hotel lobby as well as the rooms are luxurius (in a good taste). The hotel staff was very courteous and professional. Breakfast is what you would expect in a 5-star hotel, excellent.WI-FI is free in the rooms - but if you dont have a laptop and you need to check your mail, there is an internet room also. The location of the hotel is very convenient; next to Ladadika which is the area of the city that is full of restaurants & bars. The hotel is also very close to the city center, so you can walk to Tsimiski street (where all the shops are) or to the sea-front. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
