We stayed at hotel Vergina for one night in April. The hotel room was very nice. Clean and comfortable. Bathroom small but very very nice. Breakfast quite good! Fresh fruit and yogurt among the usual cake, cereal, bread. Even eggs and baked cheese on fresh tomatos. Really nice.
We stayed at a non-smoking room and ate our breakfast at an actual smoke-free area.
The hotel is renovating some rooms so ask for a room that is away from the renovation areas. There was work on the 4th floor, still we could hear some noise (not much) in the 6th floor!
The staff was not so friendly. Not rude or anything but did not smile at all. No thank you or goodbye upon check out. Didn't find it very nice.
One more thing. If you want to use the hotel parking they charge you 8 euro. Not so good a deal.. We prefered not to use it.
We payed 75 euro for one night, including breakfast.
The distance from Aristotelous square is about 15-20 minutes on foot. Not so bad but not ideal..
I would stay at the hotel again cause it is good value for money.

As the Vergina is associated with Best Western, I booked from Athens. I arrived in Thessaloniki by train and luckily, this hotel is not that far from the station and I walked to it dragging my bags as there were no taxis around.

The first thing I did the next day was to check out and move. The Vergina is a bit far from the central, interesting part of the city, on a very noisy street in the tenderloin district. The hotel itself, were it elsewhere, would be fine as the staff was helpful, the breakfast good and the room satisfactory with no view of interest. There are better places for the same money in Greece's second city.
