“One of the best hotels ever..”

So far one of the best hotels I have ever stayed. As I am in touristic business I have been to several countries and stayed in exclusive hotels. Imaret is definitely a very special one among them. The renovation of the building is done in an extraordinary great way. Though the room we stayed was a little bit small (promo deluxe room) all the details in terms of service and atmosphere was amazing. I enjoyed one of the best treatments in the Spa of the hotel. A big compliment to Maria who did the massage.
Very photogenic hotel, great service, great staff, great food...

“Promo room should be offered for single occupancy only”

Spent two nights at Imaret with my girlfriend. We had booked our room through booking.com and had booked a "Promo Double Room". The description is misleading, because the room should be offered for single occupancy only. The size of the room was like a shoebox with a double bed. It was approximately 3m wide by 2.5m and had no bedside tables, because there was no space for such luxuries!
Clearly this room was incompatible to a double room at any hotel standards and should not be offered as such.
Appart from the bad room experience, the hotel is very elegant and luxurious and despite other reviews, we found the hotel staff very polite and efficient. The hamam was OK but nothing to write home about. It is definitely overpiced as most of the services offered at this hotel (e.g, drink prices at the bar).
The food at the restaurant was delicious.
If I ever return to this hotel I would make sure to book a different type of room.

“A fairytale place”

Because of my business, I had to visit Kavala two weekends in a row. This time I chose Imaret.
This the best hotel I've ever been. Don't pay attention to negative comments. This is because Ms Misirian takes good care of her clients and doesn't let tourists to bother them strolling in the monument.
By the way, Imaret does not belong to the people of Kavala but to the State of Egypt which leased it for several decades to the Misirian family. And no, it should not be open to all visitors. Imaret is a fairytale place and must be respected as such. It's the best place for honeymooners also. If you have the chance to go there, don't hesitate! It will be the best experience of your life!

“MUST TRY”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 September 2010

A place you just have to visit the unique surroundings is worth it, rather than history and intimate atmosphere is a basis for a special romantic experience which I would recommend everyone. Perhaps this service is not quite as high but we have visited on several occasions and have sometimes service was good and sometimes a little too lazy Greek. But the surroundings outweigh this. We've had great food experiences but also some that were not quite at an expected level, but residual uranium's views and fittings of the Greek standard fine wine list outweighs the kitchen's shortcomings. the restaurant is the only place in the area where food is served with French inspiration and the classical fine silverware and plates are a delight.

“Difficult to describe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2010

Three night in a dream. Three night away from reality. By far the best we have experienced for years. The tranquility of the place is amazing. The rooms impeccably clean and cozy. The service good, the people willing, a bit of fine tuning needed. The hammam ......
A dear think, i wish we could afford more of it!
