We booked Bourgainvillea A (part of Bay View Villas) with Agni Travel only 2 weeks prior to our Holiday at the end of May. The whole booking process with them is straightforward and they were helpful throughout. We booked flights separatly with Easy Jet and as a result a cheap holiday overall.
Agni di the transfers which all worked well. USEFUL TIP: You have to take a boat from Corfu to Paxos as theree is no airport in Paxos. The boats only run at certain times during the day so aim to book a flight which departs or arrives within around an hour of the boat crossing time unless you fancy a meal in Corfu Town (not the nicest of places).
The apartments are not far from the Flying Dolphin landing point, 10 minute stroll up the steap road around Gaios or through the middle of the town. NOTE: Access to and from the apartments is difficult at best. There are two steep, largely unpaved routes from the centre of the town which take 5-10 minutes. Quite a climb and hard work in the dark. Not good for those who aren't happy negotiating rocks and the like after one too many Mythos.
The apartments themselves are new, well laid out and private. There are 6 apartments in total, the higher/upper level ones have excellent views of Gaios bay. The apartment we booked was a small twin room, suitable for a couple only. Decoration was exceptional for a greek studio and well thought out. Two single beds joined together, as per usual, a small but well equiped kitchenette and a shower room. Furnishings, air conditioning and outdoor seating too. Definatly one of the nicer places I've stayed in, in Greece.
The room was kept very clean by local staff with new sheets and towels provided intermittently. If you're a youngish couple looking to visit Paxos, I can certainly recommend.
On Paxos itself there a few do's and don'ts. Antipaxos is nice and sandy though it is now over-run by two quite unnecessary bars. Other beaches worth the hassel are Mamari, a 10 min walk from Loggos (very pretty, pebbles, clear water and olive trees for shade) and a few of the coves between Loggos and Gaios. All pebbles, a few with sand once in the sea. Avoid Mogonissi, it's a man made beach for the tourists, quite unattractive and not at all worth the trek.
Food is very 'usual Greek'. All the restaurants serve up standard fried/baked greek food. Mambos on the front was good, the small pizzaria near the coach/car park at the rear of the town is good. Otherwise the usual. Pan and Theos on the front is probably best avoided with rather lack lustre food.
I definatly recommend hiring a boat which was great fun. One day is more than enough as it only take 1 hour in total to get round the island on a fastish boat. Take it slow, We hired a 30 bhp boat which was more than enough. A cheaper smaller boat would have been more suitable. You pay between 35 - 50 euros to hire per day and leave your driving licence/passport as deposit. You also pay fuel. We went round the island in a 2 stroke engined boat and used up just under 30 euros of fuel. Expect total cost of up to around 80 euros.
Enjoy
