We booked a last minute holiday to Stars and were not disappointed in any way. Kostas and Mila work very hard to keep the accommodation, pool and bar area absolutely spotless. The pool has lots of sunbeds (we never went without) and the gardens surrounding are pretty and well kept. The bar is well stocked with lots of different drinks (cannot beat Mythos on tap though!) and the restaurant serves a huge variety of meals. If you like English foods (full English breakfast, pizza, chips, hamburgers etc) you are catered for, if you like to try local foods (stifado, pastitsio, souvlaki etc) you are also catered for. Mila is an excellent cook. We ate out on the first night and never bothered again as the Stars food is great value and the best Greek food we have eaten. The accommodation is basic Greek, kept clean and tidy (maid service every other day) and has air conditioning if you wish to pay for it (we did pay and the cost is no more than anyone else was charging for air con). The kitchen area is simple - no good for cooking a 3 course meal but who does that on holiday anyway? There is a kettle and a fridge too. We found it perfectly adequate for making drinks and basic breakfasts. The food in the restaurant is such good value that we ate there every night.
Kostas has a great sense of humour and wants to make sure that you have the best holiday - he runs quizzes and competitions for everyone to join in with if they wish and puts a lot of effort into this.
Stars is a 10 minute walk to the centre of St George South - the beaches are lovely and clean and Captain Costas runs some fabulous boat trips to Paxos and Anti Paxos and the Blue lagoon (Sivota) which we went on and had a great day swimming in the clear blue sea. The trips were value for money too.
A bus runs through St George South to Corfu Town - it takes about 1 hour and is air conditioned and comfortable. Corfu Town is well worth visiting - lots of shops and a lovely seafront. The restaurants can be a rip off though - check your prices before you order!!
We had a wonderful week at Stars - would we return? Yes we would! We are planning a return trip early next year. In a nutshell, Fab weather, lovely people, reasonably priced, delicious food, clean accommodation, spotless pool area and lots of sunbeds - whats not to enjoy? Go and try it for yourself!

Very basic accommodation as expected but for the price you are paying you cannot expect anything else. The owner is extremely rude unless you are spending all your euros in his bar every night then surprise surprise he appears to be your best mate!
St Georges is lovely but enjoy it at another hotel.

Just returned from a fantastic week at stars.For this holiday, booked as a late break we broke our own rule of never staying on an island without there being a ferry involved.However there was no need for us to have worried,Stars is in a fantastic location (quiet and rural) and despite the silly negative reviews on here the room was super and very clean, kostas a great host and milas food fantastic.The two beaches we visited were nice and quiet and the obligatory boat trips to paxos and sivota fantastic, all in all a great holiday.

This was our 7th holiday in St George all at Stars. It is such a relaxing and peaceful place. It is a short walk out from the centre of St George (about 5 - 10 mins walk) which is lovely if you want a peaceful nights sleep. We love it. We have two very young boys who are always made to feel like part of Mila and Kostas own family...they always look after them like their own. The hotel is family run and the family are all lovely, nothing is ever too much trouble for them. The food is absolutely fantastic - we ate there every night , after 7 years in the resort and having tried several restaurants we think that Mila cooks by far the best food in the resort! The rooms are simple with the basics needed if you want to attempt cooking for yourselves (which we've never done as the food is such good value). Rooms are very spacious and clean and the sheets and towels changed regularly. the building is set in lovely gardens. There are swings for the kids to play on and the pool is a nice size and although it doesn't have a seperate childrens pool (the shallow end is 0.9m) our 2 and 4 year olds are perfectly happy and safe in it...
We took other family and friends with us this time for the first time, they have already booked to go again in August and are planning to also go back in May of next year.
Bring on August when we return to Stars again!
