“We left after the first night”

We booked there because of the pictures of the nice garden. We were looking for a quiet, romantic, beautiful place, with a luxury flavour. Fact is that:
- the hotel is on the verge of a loud roads crossing
- no service: for 160EUR a night, the lady did not want to pick us up at the Sidari bus station, just 10 min away by car.
- it turned out that the Sidari area is the worse area of Corfu, with all this dreadfull mass tourism
- the bedroom was small, dark, with no air, and very hot in August
- NO air conditionned, hence we had to keep the door and the window open to get some cool air
- then we got eaten by mosquitoes the all night long - oh yes: NO mosquito net either!
- very average breakfast
- less important, but still: NO internet access, although stated in the brochure
- as we had NO sleep, we checked out in the morning and payed for this single night. The lady wanted to charge us the 4 nights that we had booked, and started to call the police - who eventually never came. But she made a hell of a show.
- just a bad experience and a bad memory.

“Corfu, Peroulades, Villa de Loulia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2009

We stayed at Villa de Loulia, at room Aloysius, from 7 till 14 September 2009. The accomodation exceeded our expectations because it was very clean and quiet. On a daily basis, the room was cleaned and the bed sheets were changed. Breakfast was simple but good. We had dinner in two occasions, which was excellent both times. During short walks within the surroundings, towards Logas Sunset Beach we witnessed several beautiful sunsets, which we enjoyed with local wine and dishes. We used a rental car to explore the island and drove over 500km to visit many exotic places this island has. On top of this, our hostess Loukia and her dog Evrydiki as well as the local people we met treated us very friendly.

“Rude, unfriendly and overpriced”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2009

We had arrived late, hot and tired, and our greeting from the manager was not "good evening", but "i hope you aren't going to leave your car there" . Not a great start. The rooms were hot and sticky and the owner initially couldn't be bothered to look for a fan for us as she claimed she didn't know where the cleaning woman kept them (she did in the end). We had ordered some food via email as we were arriving late at night - and she didn't have anything for us, and we were clearly not happy. She then proceeded to verbally insult me that i was argumentative. I explained that i was simply a customer who would have liked to have been informed so that i didn't have to go and find a restaurant at 11pm at night. Furthermore she didn't allow us to cool off in the pool - "not allowed to swim at night". In the day we discovered there were no cushions for the pool loungers (which are metal and hard and uncomfortable). Dreadful experience and expensive for the quality of the rooms too.

“Romantic week in Greece”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 September 2008

Corfu: Villa the Loulia "Absolutely romantic and very quiet!"
Date: August 30 2008.
Looking for a quiet break in the sun on an island we never visited before, we ended with Elizawashere on Corfu.
We met Loukia and she made us feel very welcome.
I asked here by mail to surprise my girlfriend with a bouquet and a welcome card. Loukia really made it happen.
breakfast was really nice and although the prices of the dinner were indeed high we spent it in a romantic ambience and that is priceless compared with other taverna's in the surroundings. The room was nice with 3 windows that we opened through the night to lower the temperature. We didn't miss the airco but we had some musquito's bothering us in our sleep.
I admit that the prices to book direct are toprank but we booked through an agency and got a fare all inclusive (flight, acommodation with breakfast and a good car (peugeot 207)) price.
We will definitely come back to the villa de Loulia when we will return to Corfu.

“overpriced, disinterested, badly maintained”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 July 2008

This is an expensive, badly maintained hotel run by a team that are totally disinterested in what they are doing.
The first room we stayed in was fit for the dogs - smelling of damp with two single beds (made up as two single beds despite obviously beeing a couple) the beds creaked whenever one moved, no air conditioning and, with one small window and a noisy fan; I slept for almost an hour. All this for 150 euros (with normal rack rate 180 euros plus breakfast.)
Dinner was about three times as expensive as any local (equally good) taverna.
The pool paving needed to be weeded and the grass cut. The entrance was lit by one light (the other not working)
All in all an extremely unpleasant experience that Conde Nast Travelor's recommendation should be ashamed of.
