“stop moaning!!”

look, the people that say the bar is over priced...... what, compared to england?!?! i dont think so, either you cant count or its another thing for you to moan about.
around the pool you cant have any food or drink that arent bought from the premises because of tax reasons, not the owners fault, you can blame the government for that!
And when u say basic rooms.... they are hardly basic if it has a T.V IN IT!!!!! But if they took the T.V out, you would probably start to moan about that aswell!
What im trying to say is, TEXAS IS THE PERFECT PLACE to come on holiday with the family..... nice and quiet, great for couples too. so instead of bursting a blood vessel on how "basic" and "its got too many rules", why dont you ask the guy at the bar " why cant we have food or drink around the pool not bought from here?" or " why cant we have glass around the pool?". P.S. I WAS THE GUY BEHIND THE BAR!!!! so there's my side to the story. ( aaaaaallllways 2 sides!)

“Great honeymoon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2011

Wonderful apartments, friendly staff. lovely rooms. nice and quiet and out of the way although this does mean 20-30min walk into sidari but at least you get a good nights sleep with being out of the way. Lovely pool could always find a sunbed. Did good food on site. Would defintly go here again.

less of a holiday and more of a prison camp, never seen so many rule, cant drink or eat anything at the pool side unless its from the very over priced bar, people being told off by owner who walks round like prison gaurd all day looking for things to moan about, the pool is ice cold, the place is the dead end of sidari a good mile wale to main shops and no views, if you must go to sidari there are much nicer places, down the canal area great views and closer to the shops

“Absolutely awful”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2010

We arrived in the early hours of the morning on 20 Sept 2010 to be dumped in a ground floor appartment that had no privacy whatsoever. As soon as you opened the terrace door there was someone on a sunbed right outside the very low wall. We asked to be moved straight away and we were told they were all full, but it was obvious there were some emtpy. We did eventually get moved to an up stairs appartment after 5 days. The appartments were not nice, showers were cold, the shower tray was constantly blocked taking an age for the water to drain away. The bed linen and towels were disgusting. The beds were really hard and uncomfortable. The appartments were not that clean but the maids appeared to be working really hard and were always very pleasant. The owners/hosts were very miserable. Pool was ok.Couldn't find a nice beach. Very dodgy road outside the appartment blocks, you take your life in your hands walking to the supermarket, which was very good. and along in to the main strip in Sidari. Didn't venture any further than the main Sidari strip as the weather was a bit hit and miss. Wouldn't go back again.

“They are trying to get me into Eleni I say No No”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2010

Just got back from the Eleni Apartments today. So my memories are still fresh. We did request a upstairs apartment, with a double bed and overlooking the pool. Well we got the pool but not overlooking but next to it divided by a low wall and a ground floor apartment with 2 single beds.

We wasn't very happy and went to sort it out. We went to the bar to ask for the reception. The barman Jolly Jimmy no less as we found out later. Replied this is self catering we don't have a reception and you can't be moved as the apartments are full. This was a lie as there was a very nice reception use to store patio heaters and the apartment we requested a move to was empty all week.

The apartment was basic and clean with the maids working very hard. The towels were full of holes. Don't have a lie in because after 10 am there is no hot water for a shower. In fact all the plumbing was very slow taking 10 minutes to fill a sink with cold water.

The pool was very nice and quiet and nicely lit at nights with plenty of sunbeds. The best sunbeds were taken very early by tired towels. As there was only English people there you can't blame the Germans.

We never tried the bar so I can't comment. The nightly entertainment was a DVD played very loudly.

The Eleni is a basic set of 28 apartments with a nice pool but the most miserable hosts I have met. We haven't been to Sidari before or with Thomson so we do not have anything to compere it with. But for us The Eleni is a no no.

On Sidari itself. We loved it despite the weather being a bit iffy at the end of September. It was a 15 minute walk from the Eleni along a scary narrow road without a pavement to the village centre. There there was everything you need for a night out. From quiet Tavernas and eateries to loud bars and posh restaurants. I recommend the Sea Breeze or Memories. The place is full of 3rd rate tribute acts who don't sound or look anything like them. One fella was Frank Sinatra one night, moved down the road. Change his wig and was Rod Stewart the next night. One exception was Farly as Lady GaGa.

The is a nice little secluded cove on the Canal d' Amour near Sunset beach. Next to Zafiris Hotel. It as a cave that you can swim thru for the brave into open sea. I didn't but my girlfriend did it 4 times. Beware of the rip off sun lounger man who chargers 5 euros and takes up every available space on the small beach. You could ask him if his sun loungers can swim.

I recommend the outings. Not by the travel reps but the numerous ones scattered around the village. We used Valerous across the road from the 3 brothers hotel. It seemed chaotic but they always got us there. For the outings alone I would go back to Sidari for a fortnight. The price of the outing are cheaper than hiring a car.

In conclusion I would reccomend Sidari in June staying somewhere in the Canal d' Amour. Gave the Eleni a complete miss unless you have missed the last bus home.
