“fantastic hotel!!”

Me and my husband, have just come back from this wonderful hotel.
there was only 14 other guests as it was the end of the season, but it made it more special as you got to know people better.
Billy the owner is a lovely but crazy man (haha)i didnt get to meet his wife barbara or children properly so cant comment on them,Ann-marie the lass behind the bar during the day was a lovely lass and
made us welcome, she is english and does the summer here.,,and well the very crazy but lovely yanni entertained us so much at night time, yammas relax respesct where his all time comments,he also kept giving us shots to try, making us very drunk most nights ;-)
This hotel is as most people on here say a little gem,its spotlessly clean the food not bad,and the people here are just so nice.
I wish i could pick up this hotel and take it with me wherever i go to on my holidays as it would be just perfect. If you are thinking of going to kefalonia please give this hotel a go you will be able to relax but have fun also,it can get a bit noisy at night, but if you dont want to join in the rooms are quiet and block out any noise, During out stay here we where invited to yannis birthday party on the nearby boat resturant, which billy got private for the night, all the guests went and what a night it was, we had some nice food ,lots of wine and then returned to the pelagos bay to cut yannis birthday cake, and for more dancing and fun,it was a time i will never forget, and made our holiday.I will just quickly say skala is a small village and a bit scattered i wasn't very keen on it ,but the people are very friendly and go out of there way to help you,i particulally liked the two resturants next door to each other one called
Mykelatos Family, who do very nice fillet steak and gave us complimentry drinks and the other one is called Siroco, which is also good, but the owner is mad he gave us a carafe of wine free as it was raining!
The old times tavern next door to the hotel is also very good and the people once again are lovely,
to sum it up i love this hotel for the views, and the owners and all the staff who really do make you feel special and like a big family,im pretty fussy when it comes to hotels but this hits the right spot so if in kefalonia
don't be silly stay at billy's

Room Tip: All the rooms are seaview,so you won't get a bad room, the lower floors have bit more room and bi...

“Good Location, Good Hotel, Lovely People”

Pelagos Bay hotel was a real find. It gave us everyting we wanted, quiet location away from the town but near the sea, clean comfortable room with a great view, a brilliant 21m pool with a poolside area big enough for everyone and as just about everyone has mentioned, owners and staff who make you feel like family whilst you are there.

Room Tip: All rooms have a sea view, ground floor best if you don't do steps.

“A Quiet & Relaxing Break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

My friend and I stayed at the Pelagos Bay Hotel for the last week of September. The family and staff run the hotel extremely efficiently and are really nice and friendly. The rooms are basic but spotlessly clean and have wonderful sea views. The beds were a little bit hard for my arthritic old bones but that is the only fault I found.

On the two evenings that we ate at the hotel the food was excellent and the barbacue night was great fun with Greek dancing, bingo and a quiz. OK, the breakfast was basic but you could pay for a "Full English", or as we did, nip down to the supermarket and buy some fruit and greek yogurt. The "Old Times" restaurant next door served good food.

The little bay opposite was superb for snorkelling although pebbly not sandy and only a half dozen people down there.. The pool was cleaned every morning and a good size with lots of sunbeds and umbrellas - but not quite as warm as the sea!

On the day that we were let down by the travel company and the coach for our day trip did not turn up Barbara was so very helpful, helping us to choose another trip which was to Fiskardi by boat and great fun. All in all this was a great relaxing holiday and, were I the kind of person who went back to the same place I would go back here. Thank you Billy, Barbara and staff.
Sandra L

Room Tip: First floor rooms probably have a better view of the sea.

“Doesn't get any better than this”

Another (7th) wonder(ful) holiday with our Greek & English family and friends.

As many of the repeat visitors will tell you Billy’s Place is an absolute gem and we consider ourselves very fortunate to stay at such an immaculately clean and friendly “home”.

Billy, Barbara, Yanni, Katarina, Anne-Marie, Bleddie, and ….oh what’s the name of that other quiet bloke behind the bar?

Towels and sheets are changed twice a week, rooms are cleaned 6 days a week, bins are emptied 7 days a week – we’re confused as to why a previous comment has said they had to pay for this service, maybe they wanted clean things every day in which case I suggest they bring a maid with them next-time they’re obviously spoilt. Also their comments about people being over 50 are quite offensive to those of us in our 30’s/40’s, in the years we’ve visited people have ranged from teenagers to yes the “elderly” but isn’t this common in most hotels and isn’t the social aspect all part of being on holiday? The breakfast is what your travel company provide so it’s basic (complain to them- they’re the ones that are ripping us off!)

As you can see from a huge percentage of comments this hotel is very much loved and special to a vast amount of visitors and we wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else in Kefalonia - Billy would find us and make us run round the Island ;).

Go, chill, enjoy some great hospitality courtesy of the Vosnakis Family and of course the quiet and unassuming Yannis our lovely Greek Brother and his “Special” cocktails.

Room Tip: All rooms face the sea and if you're hot ask for the aircon control (they can't automaticall...

“A relaxing and chilled hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

We stayed at the Pelagos Bay in late August with our 5 year old son and had a lovely time. The accommodation was marvellous - instantly impressed with sea view and standard of cleanliness first class. Apartment spacious enough for us and beds comfortable. Aircon is set on a standard temperature so make sure you ask for the remote control if you are too hot - we didn't find this out until 4 days in and they do not promote it widely (clearly cost conscious!)The pool area is very good - only drawback with a small child is that the pool is uniformly deep. This didn't stop our son having fun as he is a confident swimmer but it is something to bear in mind. There is a baby pool having said that but it is small and wouldn't keep a 5 year old occupied for long. Staff highlight is definately Iannis - a cheerful and intelligent barman who keeps the atmosphere going single - handed. Other staff were polite, courteous and helpful but the owners were a a little difficult to work out if we're honest. The pebbly beach opposite is a gem - as others have noted, it was quiet, superb for snorkelling and relaxing. Beach shoes are however a necessity here as they are on other rocky shores so do not rely on flip flops or crocs! The road outside is hardly busy but local taxi drivers are of course nuts and can rattle down it at a fair rate (cautionary note for those with kids). The trip into Skala is not an issue for couples but again with small kids we found it easier to walk in and get a cab back (the return route has a nasty hill to negotiate). In terms of food, lunchtime grub at the hotel is rather good, but our recommendation is the 'Old Times' taverna just next door - very traditional, extremely friendly and good quality - everything we adore about Greece. Give it a try - you will not be disappointed. The coastal trip to Poros is also a worthwhile detour if you get a car or fancy a (long) isolated and beautiful walk. We would go back if we didn't have so many other places on our list, and we certainly recommend this place.

Room Tip: Ask for the aircon remote and set it as low as you like despite what you will be told about 'get...
