“A relaxing stay with superb value for money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

We stayed in Eleonas Hotel with our 15 months old daughter in late October. The hotel is situated in the center of a beautiful olive grove and has great views all over Rovies village and the sea. The room was very clean with simple village-style decoration and it was just enough for a relaxing stay. Breakfast was perfect with home made products and fresh eggs made just as you wanted (fried, boiled, omelette etc). Dinner was also very nice but you have to ask for it the same morning in order for the owners to prepare it. The owners are very welcoming and nice and will do anything that comes out handy in order to make things easier for the guests. We will definitely be coming back very soon! Thank you very much for such a great stay. Harry+Helen+Christine

“Well done Marina and Stefanos!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2011

We visited Eleonas Hotel for 13 days end of August until beginning of Sept. 2011 and had an absolutely relaxing time. We were thoroughly spoilt by the owners Marina and Stefanos. We found the hotel through tripadvisor and felt reassured by the feedback given so far, although there is always some scepticism. We arrived at 1am in the morning, which wasn’t a problem, nothing felt too much for the owners. We immediately felt at home when we were told "breakfast is whenever you want it to be". What a great start!

Although we were most of the time the only guests - Greek school holidays were over and the island is mainly visited by Athenians - the owners were always there when we needed advice or recommendations, such as walks or places to eat. Their advice was really spot on. Not only that, we were invited to join a classical concert - an invitation the owners received but couldn't attend themselves. We thought this was a nice touch. We also got a tour of the local olive factory with the help of Stefanos, which was very interesting.

The small hotel is on a hill surrounded by olive trees and with lovely views for breakfast and sunsets in the evening. The owners are extremely helpful and even cooked on two occasions for us when we felt too lazy to go out. The rooms are impeccable - cleaned twice a day and with air conditioning on request. Breakfast includes fresh bread and jam, olives and cakes, whereas the latter we packed up for lunch. The place is so quiet, that we almost looked forward to city noise again after our two-week stay.

If you want to have sandy beaches, they are some 10 miles away near Aidipsos, but Rovies has empty pebbles beaches, too, with glass clear waters. Best is to explore the island by car. You can reach Roview with 2 ½ hours by car (and ferry if you like) from either Athens or Thessaloniki.

Our expectations were high, after we saw the hotels ranking in tripadvisor, and we have not been disappointed at all. My husband works in the tourism industry himself and was so overwhelmed by their service culture, that we gave them a small present at the end of our stay. Something, we haven’t done before.

Eleonas Hotel is lovely and definitely good value if you look for sun, tranquillity, empty beaches and good walks. Well done Marina and Stefanos!!!

“One of the best little B&Bs in Greece”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2011

We visited August 5-7 2011 and had a splendid time with no complaints. We read the reviews but were unsure if it could measure up to such praise. It does. We felt at home and relaxed thoroughly.
The Inn is on a hill in a large olive orchard, about 1 km from the pebble beach right outside the village of Rovies. The owners are delightful and will talk with every guest as much or as little as one might wish. The staff is extremely helpful and speaks English fluently as well as Greek. The rooms are impeccable - clean, well lit, with the right amount of furniture and stuff with balconies or back porches for all the rooms we could see. Breakfast (vegetarian + eggs) is included and is as much and as complicated as one would like. Serving from 8:30am until whenever one awakes we found to be a most civilized approach. They don't typically serve dinner but will do it by request. We had no difficulty getting coffee or beer in the afternoon on the shaded patio.
The place is quiet, but also kid-friendly. If you're looking for a pool then you'll need to go elsewhere, but the beach is not too far to walk. If you have a car then you can get to nearby unfrequented beaches and into Rovies for dinner at the numerous tavernas. We found the recommendations for dinner and nearby attractions to be spot-on. We've stayed all over Greece, but this is probably the best B&B we ever tried, and at a reasonable price too. Definitely value and worth the trip.

Room Tip: Small B&B, good for couples and small families

“Delightful small hotel among olive groves in Rovies, Evia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 July 2011

Two and a half hours drive from Athens in a peaceful setting, where man' s toil has influenced nature in accordance to Nature's laws, I have just spent a magic week-end. I discovered a small hotel run by its owners, Marina and Stephanos, minimally decorated, with shady spaces for outdoor reading or day-dreaming, uninterrupted views of the plain planted with century -old olives. I was offered home-grown produce for breakfast, information on the history of the place and what to do in the area and a visit to the chicken-coop. My room was spacious, sunny, decorated with style in subdued colours and the kilometer - long beach was within walking distance and provided natural shade. You may want to visit this little paradise!
