We (two adults , two children) just got back from an excellent holiday in Rhodes, two weeks staying at the Ville Di Lindos apartments, our apartment was very spacious and clean and consisted of two storey with twin beds and separate bathroom/showers for each storey, the lower level has a terrace and the upper a balcony, plenty of space to sit about as well, there are a couple of rings and a fridge but we didn’t cook so can’t comment on the cooker performance!. With the aircon on (110 euro / two weeks) it stayed nice and cool - there is no restriction on the use of the aircon once you’ve paid unlike some places we’ve been to. There were two TV's and a phone but we didn't use them, who would ??, All the units have sliding shutter and double glazed inner doors to keep the noise and heat out, not that there was much noise, the friendly maids cleaned every day apart from Sundays, they changed the towels as well.
The pool was superb, very clean and quite big enough for the 32 studios and 4 apartments with plenty of sunbeds to go round, - this is the first place I’ve stayed where sad people don’t get up at five in the morning to put their towels on the beds, don’t blame the Germans for this, Brits are just as bad. There is a bar/café on site which serves reasonable food and a very small mini market which we didn’t use, Irene or one of her boys is always around to help if you need it.
There were surprisingly few mozzies and they were easily dispatched, we slept with the doors shut and aircon on and had very few bites, even when eating out there didn’t seem to be many.
The location, half way between Lindos and Pefkos, means you need to hire a car unless you are happy with using the local buses or taxis to get about, walking to Lindos (1 -2 km) is a non starter because of the heat and lack of pavements. We hired a car (about £25-30 a day) and although it sounds a lot it isn’t if you start adding up taxi and excursions costs, plus you have the advantage to go wherever you want, whenever you want and Rhodes is really worth looking around!, make sure you get one with aircon if your going in the summer months!!, nearest beach is a couple of minutes drive or a 15-20 min walk.
Taverna’s are everywhere with a huge choice in Lindos but try going a bit further afield as well , the smaller ones off the beaten track are cheaper and the food is excellent, Mama’s kitchen in Gennado is particularly good.
All in all an excellent holiday, V di L deserves four stars rather than three.
