I am writing this review hoping it will help anyone who find themselves in the same predicament as myself. I booked to stay at the Lindos Gardens Lindos but due to an error on the part of the travel agent I booked with it turned out I was staying at the Pefkos Gardens Pefkos formerly known as Lindos Gardens also known as Lindos Pines. After searching for reviews I was very apprehensive about staying at this hotel as the majority of reviews were not good although I might add most of the reviews were quite old. I did find 3 recent reviews which were quite good. We arrived at the hotel early hours of the morning and were shown to our room by a very pleasant and courteous young man who also carried our suitcases. We awoke to find we had a lovely ground floor balcony surrounded by lovely shrubs and flowers and a sea view. The room was basic, which I expected as I did not pay a great deal for the holiday, but was very clean with a fridge and TV in the room. We did have to pay extra for air conditioning - 60e. OK the breakfast was not 4* quality but was adequate - omlettes bacon sausage fruit fresh bread etc. The hotel was very quiet - whether due to the bad publicity or because the season was only just starting but the plus side to this was beds were always available around the pool and the barman always had English music playing. There are three beaches in Pekfos but we favoured the one nearest to our hotel - turn right at the entrance and right at the top of the road until you come to a sign for Kavos Taverna the owners of which also own the sun beds - lovely and peaceful about 40 sunbeds in all and with the added bonus of the taverna nearby - a lovely little courtyard with beautiful flowers view and food. We were also entertained by Bernard the dog. Pefkos has the usual strip of bars and restaurants but we favoured the Tavernas off the main strip most of which had beautiful views of the sea - especially Philosophia where the food was to die for. As we had a night flight we were able to keep our room on for an extra 20e which was well worth it. The receptionist mentioned above was very helpful and rang the airport to check the flight time and arranged for the taxi to pick us up - even offering us sandwiches for our journey. We did visit Lindos on two occasions and although we loved Lindos it was very busy and very hot and the beaches rather crowded so all in all we think by staying in Pefkos you get the best of both worlds.
