“Lindos Pines Hotel also known as Pefkos Gardens”

I am writing this review hoping it will help anyone who find themselves in the same predicament as myself. I booked to stay at the Lindos Gardens Lindos but due to an error on the part of the travel agent I booked with it turned out I was staying at the Pefkos Gardens Pefkos formerly known as Lindos Gardens also known as Lindos Pines. After searching for reviews I was very apprehensive about staying at this hotel as the majority of reviews were not good although I might add most of the reviews were quite old. I did find 3 recent reviews which were quite good. We arrived at the hotel early hours of the morning and were shown to our room by a very pleasant and courteous young man who also carried our suitcases. We awoke to find we had a lovely ground floor balcony surrounded by lovely shrubs and flowers and a sea view. The room was basic, which I expected as I did not pay a great deal for the holiday, but was very clean with a fridge and TV in the room. We did have to pay extra for air conditioning - 60e. OK the breakfast was not 4* quality but was adequate - omlettes bacon sausage fruit fresh bread etc. The hotel was very quiet - whether due to the bad publicity or because the season was only just starting but the plus side to this was beds were always available around the pool and the barman always had English music playing. There are three beaches in Pekfos but we favoured the one nearest to our hotel - turn right at the entrance and right at the top of the road until you come to a sign for Kavos Taverna the owners of which also own the sun beds - lovely and peaceful about 40 sunbeds in all and with the added bonus of the taverna nearby - a lovely little courtyard with beautiful flowers view and food. We were also entertained by Bernard the dog. Pefkos has the usual strip of bars and restaurants but we favoured the Tavernas off the main strip most of which had beautiful views of the sea - especially Philosophia where the food was to die for. As we had a night flight we were able to keep our room on for an extra 20e which was well worth it. The receptionist mentioned above was very helpful and rang the airport to check the flight time and arranged for the taxi to pick us up - even offering us sandwiches for our journey. We did visit Lindos on two occasions and although we loved Lindos it was very busy and very hot and the beaches rather crowded so all in all we think by staying in Pefkos you get the best of both worlds.

“We had a wonderful time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 March 2008

When my husband and i went back in 2004 for our honeymoon ...the place blew us away, with the owner barbra making us feel very welcome .Our room overlooked the pool and the sea..It was amazing .The staff were wonderfully helpfull and very friendly .we cant wait to go back.We would recommend this to everyone .With entertainment most nights, but if its not your cup of tea a short walk into town where there are plenty of lovely resturants to choose from ..and the bars. It made for a wonderful expreince ...so go ..have fun and make so wonderfull memories . Lisa and joe

“PEFKOS GARDENS IN RHODES”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2007

when we read the reviews on the pefkos gardens re : lindos pines,, we thought my god what on earth have we done,,but i can assure you this was not the case,, the hotel was really clean, the staff couldnt do enough to help you,,our young cleaner kept the rooms in excellent order and changed the linen nearly everyday, and the towels also,,her name was nadia,,,the breakfast was excellent,,tea, coffee, orange juice, sliced bread, jams, butter, cold meats, cheese, hard boiled eggs, and quiche, cereal, greek yogurt, sliced peaches, and on more than one occasion fried eggs, sausages, brioche, if you cant find something to eat out of all of that theres something wrong,it was served in the resturant which looked out over the sea and was lovely and clean,, we only saw barbara on a rare occasion and she kept herself to herself,,so dont go worrying as we did that we were staying in a butlins ha ha,, the only reservation we had is that we were the only english people there, so it needs to raise its profile to encourage more of us there ,but it was a really lovely holiday ,, 10/10,,lynne,kev aldred sept, 2007,,

  • Liked — the peaceful surroundings, the helpful staff, the clean rooms ,

we were transferred after we made a terrible mistake and chose to go to Falaraki, as we were a family it was not the best choice so we were transferred without delay and First Choice were very helpful!.When we arrived at the Lindos Pines we were pleasantly surprised and made to feel at home at once by the owner Barbara!! (the tanoy!!!) The only fault i could give was that the studio rooms for 3 were a bit of a crush! but thats it, The pool was very nice and quite big and the weekly entertainment also went down a treat, i did not know a soul who did not go to the weekly barberque and karaoke!!!Overall it was a wonderful holiday which everyone enjoyed! i have read some of the recent reviews and cant explain what has happened to the hotel? when we went it was excellant!
