We've been going to the Blue Bay for several years and it remains, in our estimation, the perfect spot to stay in Patmos. Located around the bend just 50 meters from the port and town, it gives you the impression of being isolated due to the rock formations which surround it and the unobstructed view of the bay and islands in the distance.
The rooms are adequate (although beds would benefit from better mattresses and softer pillows) with a fridge, airconditioning and TV if you're so inclined. Buffet style breakfast can be enjoyed on the shaded terrace...
The owners Ana and Steve are both delightful and very helpful, as is the rest of the staff. Rooms with balconies facing the bay are the best and if you're travelling with friends the two adjoining rooms which share a huge private terrace are ideal.
Peaceful and highly recommended place to stay on the most beautiful island in the Dodecanese.

Patmos has got to be one of the best of the Greek islands; it has plenty of sites and services but is not overcrowded by tourists and therefore remains relatively unspoilt. The Blue Bay Hotel occupies a prime location on the hill just outside the town, about 5mins walk from the port. The family that run it are very friendly and they have managed to strike a good balance between having a small hotel but with excellent facilities. The breakfast is fresh, filling and delicious. The rooms are simply decorated but clean and comfortable, and they open out onto spacious sun verandas with breathtaking views across the bay. Just 5mins further walk along the road will take you to some small steps that lead down into a quiet cove which is the perfect spot for a breakfast swim. We'd highly recommend both Patmos and the Blue Bay - just don't tell too many people!

Great Aussie/Greek Family run business. Fantastic breakfast with home treats on alternating days (fig jam, farm fresh eggs) on the balcony, different rooms have different aspects so check out which room you;re in as you'll enjoy the time lounging around on this beautiful island.
