We stayed at Tina Studios after much internet research and deliberation. We were not disappointed. I had been to Kalymnos a couple of years before with Olympic holidays, i had really enjoyed the island but did not like the location of the hotel i had stayed in as it was in Elies and not really walking distance from the beach. Having got the bus to Myrties most days to take a boat over to telendos I wanted this time to stay somewhere with a beatfiul view on the islet. As soon as we arrived at Tina Studios I knew we had made the right choice, the room was large with a kitchenette on the left and bathroom on the right as you first walked in and then opening out to a large space with two single beds side by side, a wardrobe and a mirror with dressing table. The room was spotless and well maintained. But the real gem for me was the balcony, the double doors open onto a huge paved balcony with a table and chairs that has a stunning view of the islet of telendos across the shimmering blue water, for me it really was breath taking. All this for £11 each a night! The beach is very close, you just cross the road and take the steep staircase down to the sand. This was ideal for us as we liked to return to the studio between 1 and 3 to make our own lunch and have a bit of a siesta. The Studios are conviniently located at the Myrties end of Massouri so that you are walking distance for the the taverna's in both resorts and also walking distance from the quay where you can take the small taxi boats over to telendos.

The studios don't have a reception as such, the owners also run the restaurant across the road called Kelly's where you can find them if you have any questions or problems. The owners are very friendly, easy going and helpful people. The food at Kelly's is your typical Greek fair, I especially enjoyed the meatballs.

The beach at Massouri is certainly not the best beach you'll find in greece but it has some sunbeds and umbrellas and is very laid back. The sea is lovely and clear and its a nice depth for swimming and not at all choppy. There was always a nice breeze on this beach which helped to keep us cool.

Kalymnos itself is a very relaxed and quiet island, apart from its main town which has a good buzz about it on a Saturday night. It makes for a cheap holiday, our two weeks cost us about £320 for flights and accomodation.
