This resort oozed friendliness and is in a great location away from the "sardine sunbaker" beaches around Naxos town. The beaches at the south of the island are sandy, discreet and not high tempo.We were there in late September, things were winding down but Nick picked us up from the ferry, Dmitri guided us through the menu over a few nights, and their mum cooked up a storm in the taverna - her eggplant salad and lamb and lemon sauce were tops. We booked late and ended up in a stuffy room round the back but they apologised in advance. Advice - book early and get an apartment facing the ocean. Terrific experience if you want a more relaxed stay. The pool was long enough to do laps, too.

My wife and I, along with our son and his wife, stayed 1 week in the largest apartment at Faros in May 2011. We agree with the many other reviews describing the lovely family atmosphere and their eagerness to please the guests. The facility is nearer to the sea than we had thought, making it a pleasant 15 minute walk to a nearly deserted and picturesque beach. The breakfasts were very generous, and we appreciated the pick-up and delivery to the port very much. We rented a car for 3 days, and Nikos arranged delivery to our apartment and pick-up when we were through. You could not ask for a nicer pool area, and the Faros taverna was the best choice many nights, although we did also try some of the restaurants up the road a few kms. Whatever we needed, they did it. We had a great time, and would definitely recommend Faros to anyone looking for a quiet week in Greece.

We had a great stay at Faros for our honeymoon in September! The Moustakis family are great hosts and really made us feel welcome. The food was unbelievable. We went to Santorini, Naxos, and Mykonos, and the food everywhere was amazing, but Faros was the best! Definitely try their locally produced cheese. Naxos was a little sleepy in late September - most of the tourist activities such as sailing excursions, etc. had shut down. But the beaches were gorgeous and we had such a relaxing and enjoyable time at Faros. Much thanks to Nikos, Dimitrius, Illias and Mamma for making our vacation so special!
