My fiance and I stayed at Hotel Sourneli Gardens for the last week of August 2010 and we could not believe the value for money we received on arrival at the hotel. We were picked up at the airport by John and taken straight to our room which we were extremely happy with. Very clean and large with private bathroom, private balcony, A/C, TV, fridge, wardrobe and draws etc. The hotel is extremely great value, we paid 50 Euro's a night which during the last week of August is unbelievable value for money. Even the most basic place in Mykonos town is at least double this at the very least.
John and Emmi were our hosts, and I can honestly say that they are the most friendly hosts we have ever stayed with. They were always there if you had any questions, and they pick and drop you of at either the port or airport free of charge.
The hotel is set in a lovely mediterranean garden with various rooms at either ground floor or first floor (first floor is 10 Euros more). All rooms have air conditioning, fridge, TV, private balconies and bathrooms etc. The rooms are extremely clean, large and basic. Rooms are cleaned daily. The actual hotel is about a 6 minute walk into Mykonos Town where the main bus station is located, however there is also a bus stop about 40 metres outside the front door of the hotel, which all buses on the island pass by, you just simply need to wave the bus down to hop on. You buy bus tickets at the mini-market where the bus stop is lcoated.
The value for money is unbeatable without a question of doubt. We have travelled many times to Mykonos and in August have never paid less that 110 Euros a night, so to find a little gem of a hotel like this for 50 Euros was a very pleasant surprise. We generally go to Mykonos ever second summer, and we will definately only ever stay at Hotel Sourmeli Gardens from now on.
We have travelled alot over the years, but this is the first time we have felt the need to write on trip advisor to pass on our experience. We strongly recommend staying at this hotel where John and Emmi will treat you as a cherished guest. No one will ever walk away dissapointed.
