“Not quite relaxing...”

Our stay at the hotel was.. interesting.

I'll start with the drive to the hotel. It is definitely not central to Mykonos Town. It is a 10-15 minute walk downhill from the hotel which you have to walk back again - uphill. We found this exhausting once you get through the road that feels like it leads to nowhere due to all the chickens and goats.

We arrived at the hotel to greet the concierge who had minimal communication skills. I could not figure out whether to speak English or Greek to him. He informed me he spoke neither of those languages. He only knew a fraction to check us in to the hotel.
I found this frustrating as you need to be able to converse with hotel guests especially when welcoming them. First impressions last!

I asked the concierge for a map as I explained we felt we were far from the town. He told me there were no maps available. Could he not take the initiative to print one from Google?

However the hotel is beautiful. It's modern it's aesthetically pleasing and it did reflect the photos in its' advertisment. BUT I found bugs in the room. Particularly baby cockroaches and flies. Our bed sheets were not changes our beds were just made again the next day.

The walls seem paper thin, at night we could hear alot of noise coming from the managers room as they live at the hotel. It was horrible. You don't really want to sleep whilst you're in Mykonos the nightlife is simply amazing however two nights when we wanted to sleep we could hear screaming and yelling which we didn't appreciate.

There was no remote for the tv even if we wanted to watch tv. Breakfast was ok.

“Good - but could be better!”

It's a real shame as this hotel could be really excellent. Unfortunately it seems to be run by people who have no passion for running a hotel. The good things included very clean and modern rooms with plenty of hot water. The staff were helpful to a point - but didn't go that extra mile. Breakfast was the same every day and managed to provide the bare minimum to constitute a meal. The pool area was nice - and now has plenty of sun beds. Unfortunately the bar was not open or stocked - perhpas this was because it was almost the end of the season. The location is a drive away from the town - but we had a hire car so this wasn't a problem. The hotel advertised an offer on their website which we had to negotiate when we came to settle the account as the hotel staff were unaaware of the offer - fortunately I had printed the web page - once this was made clear we got the deal offered.
With a bit more effort this hotel could easily increase it's star rating as it has all the elements to be a really swish boutique hotel. A pity the potential isn't realised.

“Horrible service and rude management”

I recently stayed at Thomas Hotel in Mykonos for 8 nights. While the hotel is a quaint, quiet modern little place outside of typically noisy Mykonos town, the hotel staff was rude and had an attitude like I was inconveniencing them. The manager was unaccommodating. [My airline had cancelled my departing flight, forcing me to leave Mykonos a day early but the manager refused to give me back my money for the night I did not stay at the hotel.] Also, this hotel has advertised itself as being in Mykonos Town -- it's not! It's about a 10 minute motorbike ride from the town!

  • Liked — that it was a quiet place away from the noisy town
  • Disliked — the staff and the management's attitudes

“good location for teetotal hikers”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 August 2008

Booking site stated only ONE room left for our dates, we thought it a bit expensive but.... when we arrived it was obviously nearly empty. The receptionist offered no assistance in carrying the heavy cases to our second storey room allowing a small 50+ lady to struggle.
The swiming pool has NO shade, NO sun loungers and NO users. The Jacuzzi is permenantly covered and you have to find a staff member to "see" if it can be turned on! The pool side bar is boarded up with plywood sheets. If you do get a beer from reception expect to pay 4euros.
It is several KM from anything with NO hotel transfer and it is a VERY VERY steep hill.
Rooms were clean and recently refurbished but with on coffee or tea making facilities. There is a balcony but so small there is no room for any table.
For the price you pay the breakfast is very poor with little choice.
