We stayed ay the Archipelagos in early September 2011 & had a lovely relaxing time. The hotel is lovely, rooms are really clean & comfortable, air conditioning, beds & towels changed every day. All the staff are nice, friendly & helpful, but I would avoid Costas, who is just too slick for my liking, I wouldn't trust him. The pool area is lovely & a good beach is only a couple of hundred yards walk away. There is a courtesy bus from the hotel daily at 12noon & 9pm but you need to get yourself back by bus or taxi. The breakfast is excellent, plenty of choice & served from 8.30 until 11. There are towels provided by the pool.
I must be realistic though, you do need to hire a car to enjoy the holiday properly. The nearest mini mart is a good mile & half walk away up a very steep hill. You do need to get to the supermarket in Ana Mera (3 miles away) as drinks, water etc are very expensive in the mini bar in your room. ie. 4.40 euros for a small can of coke, 2 euros for a small bottle of water... 15 cents in supermarket.!! There are a number of restaurants there too. The hotel restaurant is good value & quality in comparison to others but there is not too much choice if you are staying for 2 weeks. You do need to take your own hairdryer as the one in the bathroom is like those you find in swimming baths. There is no tea or coffee provided in the rooms so a travel kettle would make life easier.
I have quoted good & bad but we had a really lovely relaxing holiday experience & would recommend it.
