“Ask for a renovated room”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

We stayed here in July, and when we arrived, we were very pleased with the public areas. Pretty restaurant, great view, professional staff, beautifully designed lobby area. And then.... we were taken to our room which was depressing and out of date. We had friends staying in a renovated room and it was gorgeous. It didn't even look like the same hotel! Word to the wise: verify that you will be staying in a renovated room, because the old rooms are kind of gross.

Room Tip: Ask for one of a recently renovated room.

“Nice little hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

I didn't have high expectations for this hotel but I was pleasantly surprised. First of all, the location is perfect, right above the middle of Mykonos town, very easy to get to from all the action of the town. Our room was spacious with a private balcony, it was sunny and the decor was interesting and inviting with wooden ceiling, stone walls and nice furniture. Breakfasts were typical and basic but satisfying. The staff were always friendly and accommodating. There was a larger pool and a smaller pool but we didn't try either of them, they seemed ok though. It's a nice little hotel where you can feel at home as you explore the narrow streets of Mykonos.

“Lovely location but room terrible!”

Came back from a week at Semeli. Booked with Thomson and hotel and location lovely but room very dated and small. Thomson only have 3 rooms allocated at hotel and they are not great so be warned!

Don't take room 231 as we were next to the cleaners cupboard and were woken every morning with her banging her mops etc!

Pool area and breakfast lovely but very expensive for lunch and drinks. Had the most amazing chicken salad though.

Pool very cold!

The service was great thought and would possibly come back but not with thomson!

Room Tip: balcony by pool! not basement

“Loved it. Great service and location”

My husband and I recently returned from staying a week at the Semeli. We booked through Thomson Holidays after finding a great package deal with them.
I think we were upgraded. We turned down the first room, 301 I think as the terrace was practicularly underground. Our next from was great. Room 404 I think, downstairs with private patio, but no view. Room was lovely. All white with lime green accent cushions and beautiful rain shower. Only downsides were the smell (cat wee!) but a plug in air freshener from local store fixed that, and a towel hook. Wifi access intermittent but not a problem. Great breakfast served until 12pm with wonderful friendly staff. Lunch great too. Recommend the chicken salad. Pool area lovely and staff helpful. we booked next door's Nobu through reception. Disappointing table so don't go unless you've got one by the pool.
Highly recommend this hotel. Friendly staff, perfect location and chilled atmosphere.

“beautiful and very romantic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 August 2011

This is hotel is so well situated just above town with a beautiful view. Quiet and charming. Staff is awesome and makes you feel at home. The view from the room was amazing on mykonos and the harbor. I would go back there in a heart beat. Rooms are modern and medium size. We had a balcony so we would sip our ouzo and see the sunset before dinner. Bfast is generous - buffet style and cook eggs of your choosing. We rented a small car (u only need small !!) and this is handy to discover all the beaches on the island. No parking issue as the doorman will park ur car in the hotel garage - no extra charge. Very easy.
Explore the various beaches - Some of them are more isolated and some have wonderful Taverns where u eat wonderfully. Beg of July was perfect as beaches were quiet.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony (upper level) - the ones on the lower level seem less private as it is...
