“Remote location, but close to Paradise Beach, smelly sewer nearby”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

If you're looking to have a hotel within walking distance of Paradise Beach and Paranga Beach, this is the place to stay. Keep in mind though that is very remote from the rest of the island and you can easily get lost trying to drive to it if you rent a vehicle. Our room was #61, situated towards the end of the building near the parking lot. There was a sewer manhole there that gave out the most awful smelling fumes you can imagine-- sulphuric smelling like sewage. It blew right into our balcony and room so much so we couldn't keep our room windows open with the nice sea breeze outside nor could we stand drinking on our patio. The front desk lady was not friendly and at times even short with us and rude. The pool area is gorgeous and the rooms themselves are average at best. There are always two separate beds so if you want one queen or double bed for you and your significant other, there is no way to put the two beds completely together due to the wooden frames of the beds. The beds themselves are not comfortable either. No free WI FI either, 5 euro for 90 minutes. Whaaaaat??? I think we would've stayed near Elia beach instead of this location if we had a second chance at it!

Room Tip: Don't get a room near the parking lot, stay as close to the pool as possible to avoid the smell...

“Great hotel, location...depends on what you want.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2011

San giorgio is a beautiful hotel, verry nice room, good shower, verry clean. The pool and pool bar are verry nice beautiful view of the sea, nice sunbeds, modern look. Great service from the reception. Verry well located if you want to party because it a 2 minutes walk from paraga beach and 7 minutes from paradise beach. These two beaches are party beaches, verry loud house music, lots of drunk people. So not verry relaxing beaches. If it is what you are looking, perfect location. Also you can hear a little the music from paradise club at the pool at in the room, not enough t keep us awake at night though. Also verry close from the bus stop that takes you to mykonos town, 10 minutes ride. So great hotel but we changed because we wanted to be closer to more quiet beach.

“Solid Beach Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 July 2011

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel San Giorgio in Mykonos at the end of May 2011. It was a bit quiet at that point as the tourist season hadn't really started yet, but we had an enjoyable stay.

The location is great if you are in Mykonos for the beach. You are steps from Paradise Beach and Paraga Beach, and could have a fine time at either beach. Paradise being a bit more rowdy, Paraga being more of a family beach. The location is a bit far from town (20 minutes by taxi which cost around 15 Euros.) There is a bus as well but it doesn't run all that often. And since the weather was on the cooler side when we were there, we spent most of our time in town...so it got a bit annoying shuttling back and forth in the taxi. There are places to eat on the beach for lunch, but I don't know about trying to eat dinner down there with everyone clubbing around you....there is of course much more a selection in town.

The rooms at the hotel, while not luxurious, were quaint and adequate. The style reminded me of the older shore houses on the East Coast of the U.S...Hamptons, Cape Cod, Jersey Shore... The shower is kind of small and funny, but that's how most of the showers/baths are in Greece., and drain on the bathroom floor would back up and flood the bathroom if you showered too long...not the greatest plumbing, but it's tough to have good plumbing by the beach. We also got there at the beginning of the season so they may have still been working out some of the kinks after the winter.

The area was very quiet when we were there, you could barely hear some of the partying on Paradise Beach at night, and the grounds were quite nice. The pool was big and very refreshing if a bit cool...it was still May, but it looked so good I had to swim a few laps.. It is a salt water pool. The breakfast was VERY GOOD! And the kitchen staff was very nice and attentive. The front desk staff were slightly odd, but mostly accommodating. We asked them to call us a taxi when we were leaving and they told us there weren't any, but we could of course take the over-priced hotel shuttle to town...whatever. Overall it was a good stay and I would recommend it if you can get a good price. Again, this isn't a luxury hotel, but a good solid little beach hotel with nice scenic views and a great location for the beaches. If you are going to Mykonos to spend your time in town shopping/clubbing/eating then you may want to stay in town.

Amazing sea view (choose a room with balkon).
Less than 5 minutes walk from Paranga or Paradise beach but also there is a relaxing pool with bar. Very good breakfast. Polite staff with professional attitude. Typical cycladic architecture with a cosi chapel. Excellent lobby. Value for money We will come back soon.

The property was perfectly situated between Paranga Beach and Paradise Beach. The lobby was beautiful. The pool area was very nice. The actual rooms were decent sized. The beds could have been more comfortable. Breakfast was nice and more than adequate.
