My wife and I stayed at the Hotel San Giorgio in Mykonos at the end of May 2011. It was a bit quiet at that point as the tourist season hadn't really started yet, but we had an enjoyable stay.
The location is great if you are in Mykonos for the beach. You are steps from Paradise Beach and Paraga Beach, and could have a fine time at either beach. Paradise being a bit more rowdy, Paraga being more of a family beach. The location is a bit far from town (20 minutes by taxi which cost around 15 Euros.) There is a bus as well but it doesn't run all that often. And since the weather was on the cooler side when we were there, we spent most of our time in town...so it got a bit annoying shuttling back and forth in the taxi. There are places to eat on the beach for lunch, but I don't know about trying to eat dinner down there with everyone clubbing around you....there is of course much more a selection in town.
The rooms at the hotel, while not luxurious, were quaint and adequate. The style reminded me of the older shore houses on the East Coast of the U.S...Hamptons, Cape Cod, Jersey Shore... The shower is kind of small and funny, but that's how most of the showers/baths are in Greece., and drain on the bathroom floor would back up and flood the bathroom if you showered too long...not the greatest plumbing, but it's tough to have good plumbing by the beach. We also got there at the beginning of the season so they may have still been working out some of the kinks after the winter.
The area was very quiet when we were there, you could barely hear some of the partying on Paradise Beach at night, and the grounds were quite nice. The pool was big and very refreshing if a bit cool...it was still May, but it looked so good I had to swim a few laps.. It is a salt water pool. The breakfast was VERY GOOD! And the kitchen staff was very nice and attentive. The front desk staff were slightly odd, but mostly accommodating. We asked them to call us a taxi when we were leaving and they told us there weren't any, but we could of course take the over-priced hotel shuttle to town...whatever. Overall it was a good stay and I would recommend it if you can get a good price. Again, this isn't a luxury hotel, but a good solid little beach hotel with nice scenic views and a great location for the beaches. If you are going to Mykonos to spend your time in town shopping/clubbing/eating then you may want to stay in town.
