This intimate family run hotel was recommended to us by friends who actually stayed at another, older hotel. While they were in Folegandros, they kindly checked out the other hotels for us and found this jewel! The hotel has two sections - the blue line and the green line. The rooms are similar in quality but the views are different. The balconies on the blue line face the water which sounds more appealing but the winds are often so strong (especially in September & October) that you can't really sit out on them. The green line face into the common walk through and the quiet roadway leading to the main square. We had the room at the end of the green line which provided the best of both worlds - great views of the sea and shelter from the wind. The room was large and immaculate with a kitchenette, sitting area and very modern bathroom and fantastic shower.
The owners were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. The superjet which we were booked on was not running and Cornelia e-mailed us with alternate choices. We were picked up and dropped off at the port (no charge). We chose not to prepay for breakfast (18 euro each for a full, multi-choice meal ). However, you can order single items from the menu once you get there and the prices are very reasonable and the food is excellent. We also ate lunch by the pool and again the quality, choices and prices were excellent.
Loved the island of Folegandros and definitely will stay at Anemomilos when we go for a return visit!

What can we say? We went there with very high expectations and they were totally exceeded. Our blue room was spacious, spotless and the bed was one of the most comfortable beds we've ever slept on. We arrived in Folegandros in the middle of the night and couldn't see the view. But when we woke up the next morning, it was truly awe inspiring to see the view! Whew! Cornelia and Diana were beyong helpful and friendly. Also, Chora, the main town of Folegandros is literally minutes away from the hotel and especially at night, the town seems like something out of a fairytale. This is an experience we will never forget. Hope to be back one day!

This small hotel on Folegandros Island was my favourite place out of the four islands we stayed on whilst island hopping in the Greek Islands.

* the most amazing views - right on the edge of a cliff with sweeping ocean views
* our room (a blue room) was large with a little kitchen, lounge area and very comfortable bed - with a lovely balcony/patio area with table and two chairs - the perfect place to have a glass of wine and watch the sunset (just as good as in Oia, Santorini - if not better because no crowds)
* fantastic pool area next to lovely eating/drinking area
* the most helpful and friendly staff
* Folegandros is such a wonderful island - totally unspoilt - beautiful little beaches with cafes overlooking the bays - get a quad bike and travel around the island (it is not a big island and you can see most of the island in a day)
* a two minute walk to the lovely village of Hora with some great friendly tavernas and bars.
* if you book in off-peak season this hotel is extremely well priced

Would definitely love to go back some day! Just the best place!

Anemomilos and Folegandros has to be one of the most spectacular spots in the world. Great place to get away from the crowds. Many good restaurants just a few feet away down the hill. Check out The website and the webcam.
