If you want to camp in Folegandros you have no choice but to stay at this site (unless you want to wild camp somewhere, which is not allowed on this island). However, this camping is the worst I've ever stayed in. The facilities are disgusting, with cold showers and dirty toilets; and the staff are the most unpleasant I've come across. They never, ever smiled. In addition, the location isn't great if you don't have wheels.

I arrived at 11pm and was pitching my tent in the dark in strong winds. I was alone and unlucky enough to have a tent pole snap in half. I went to the office to see if they had any tape I could use. The woman said an abrupt no and then shut the door in my face. I asked in the bar and had a similar level of disinterest. Fortunately, a lovely French couple helped with a temporary repair.

What was good about the camping was the friendliness. I made some great Greek, Italian and French friends. Apart from that, the experience of this camping definitely wasn't one to write home about.

It would be great if a new camping was opened nearer to Chora that was clean and had friendly staff.
