“Good late getaway”

Wanted a last minute sun break in the middle of the school holidays. Rethymnon had been recommended to us by family but we knew we needed to be near the town as the resort stretches for miles and miles and you can easily end up being 10+ miles away from the town.
We had a room in the new annex of the main hotel. Room in this part of the hotel was excellent. It was large, airy, clean, had a good kitchenette and good bathroom. Not sure what the rooms would be like in the main part. The pool was okay but we spent most of out and about or on the beach. Food was a bit hit and miss and as we were half board and not all inclusive there was often confusion over the payment of drinks. But when we chose to eat there there was always plenty of choice. To be fair we usually go self catering so it was good to have a choice of eating in or out.
Rethymnon is an excellent town. Ibiza should take a look at some the bars and their customer service because they could learn alot. Also not a lot of children about as it is still primarily a working town. Lefkoniko Beach was good value for money given a) the time of year we went and b) the fact we booked only a few weeks before. If you get a deal go but more importantly go to Rethymnon it is a great town steeped in history with some fantastic bars.

“"Could Have Loved Ya Better Baby"”

Stayed at Lefkoniko Beach 13th - 27th August. Got there 5.30am only to find given three of us 2 single beds were so tired had to sleep 2 in 1.
All in all nice clean rooms, half decent food, although labeling buffet would give people idea of what they are eating, the all - inclusive is very limited compared to what we have become used to, but we got a very cheap last minute deal so i think it was value for money.

I would highly recommend this place for people with small children, the pools are varied and appeal to all sizes and abilities(in fact my son learned to swim there this holiday) beach is sandy mostly, sea is lovely , tho' can get very choppy, got hit by some BIG waves, but enjoyed it, beware tho' small kids. In hotel very little to do in evenings, which is a big minus, being limited to only one cocktail of the day free in A-I package plus one type of beer, alot of people actually went out and bought their own. Entertainment is karaoke night wednesday, Greek night saturday and thats it. so bring your playing cards or gameboy.

The town centre of Rethymno is just a 12 minute walk down the beach road , which makes it even more enjoyable, full of bars , clubs, shops, all you can want and expect. Theres plenty of tours to do all around island.
too numerous to recommend individually, but i recommend you do them.

In conclusion, being my first time in Greek isles for 20 years maybe i'd forgotten about the people, but sadly i must Implore the tourist board to take some time explaining to the industry, that its us tourists who make the economy and therefore if you want us to come back and spend more money, please o' please, be more friendly. The service everywhere in hotel , shops, bars, excursion operators, ALL border on plain rude to ignorant outside the hotel , and inside they only seem to become warmer and friendlier to you after they got to know you about 9 -10 days, which makes most of the 14 unpleasant. So PLEASE Maitre De, smile once in a while , your face wont break. Reception, dont make us stand there for 5 minutes to collect our keys with NO ONE else before us, it takes 2 seconds, and acknowledge us when we need information(spoke to one womans head and back the whole time whilst making one inquiry)Bay bar staff, dont leave our drinks at the OTHER end of the bar when we make an order, especially after the 10 minute wait to be served with no one before you.

Having said that, Babis, you are great company after hours (Coach), Efi, who loves ya baby, Eva sorry we could not have that dance.

Special shout out to all guests who made our stay memorable, John . Sharon, Andy, Donna, Janet,Simon(gyros) and your lovely kids. And everyone else (now im realising just how many names we know too many to type, but we glad we met you).

“Near the beach!”

We stayed one week at Lefkoniko Beach hotel with a very big group. Hotel consist of old and new building. Because of our large group, I visited almost every room at this hotel, and must say, that rooms in old building are smaller but much better! But no complains of new apartments at all.
Conference rooms are also very good.

There's two swimming pools between the buildings, but they are so small that we always swam in sea.
We ate every day few times at hotel's restaurant and food was good.
Lefkoniko Beach is one of the best aparthotels in Rethymnon, I highly recommend!
