We have stayed in 3 hotels on Creta. Maravel land was one of them. There are two hotels in the net -Maravel Land (on the beach) and Maravel Sky (across the road). When we arrived, the manager showed us the terrible stinking room in Maravel Land and told us that other rooms are busy, but she could suggest us a better room in Maravel Sky across the road. THe room across the road was also stinky, but a little bit bigger.After putting our laggage in the room we have decided to take a shower. .... The water was cold and we couldn't get any hot water from this old mouldy shower. After visiting our dining room in the hotel we have found that the category of the Maravel Sky is lower than Maravel Land and we decided to move back to the hotel we have booked before. After half an hour of quarreling, the manager gave us the room in Maravel Land with hot water in the shower and normal bed. So, dear travaller, be aware of the staff in Maravel Land. I think, this is the ordinary trick they do with tourists to fill the other hotel which is not so popular because it stands on the second line from the sea.
So, to summ up... The rooms are very unpleasant, dirty, with old furniture and stinky towels. There is a smell of mould in all rooms (we have seen 3 rooms :) ). The food in the restaurant is also awful. We have payed for breakfast and dinner befor. We had only brekfast in the hotel and went outside for a dinner. The staff is rude and unpleasant. THe most horrible situation was in the restaurant. While all people were eating, one of the cleaner was mooving near the tables with big hand-cart, puting scraps on it. It was disgusting. We were lucky to go away from the hotel every day. We have rent a car and came back to the hotel only for a sleep.
