Note the month and year. I suspect this makes a big difference to other reviews. The hotel was clean and very quiet . The location is terrific , right on a good bathing beach. The food was nothing to write home about - very few local dishes but if you like jelly you will be in heaven. The wine and ouzo flowed relatively freely but a better class of guest to the usual All inclusive meant pleasantly undisturbed evenings on the terrace watching those magical sunsets. We had fresh towels most days and the rooms were spotlessly clean . Again luck determines satisfaction. Our room [ 213 ] was really nice. I suspect if you ask as we did for a twin bedded room you will get a better deal. The staff were really very nice and helpful.
It's a 7 km trek into Rethymnon and the buses are a law unto themselves. Hire a car , lots of good deals whilst we were there. Places we enjoyed visiting Agios Galena via Spili. Mono Prevelli , stop for lunch at the taverna by the old Venetian bridge . If you want a white knuckle Jeremy Clarkson drive , take The Old Road to Iraklion . We two 70 year olds had a very good holiday at this place and on this island. Has we say up north
